Accuretic

Generic name: hydrochlorothiazide and quinapril [HYE-droe-KLOR-oh-THY-a-zide-and-KWIN-a-pril ]

Class of drugs: ACE inhibitors with Thiazides

What is Accuretic?

Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic thiazide (water pills). Quinapril is the category of an ACE inhibitor (ACE is the abbreviation for angiotensin-converting enzyme).

Accuretics is a mixture of medicine for treating hypertension ( high blood pressure). Lowering blood pressure could reduce the risk of suffering the risk of a stroke or heart attack.

Accuretic is also employed for reasons not mentioned in this guideline.

 Warnings

Avoid using it when you are expecting. If you find yourself pregnant and discontinue using Accuretic inform your doctor immediately.

It is not recommended to use this medicine if you've experienced angioedema have difficulty urinating or if intolerant to sulfa medications or the ACE inhibitor. Do not use an Accuretic within 36 hours before or after taking a medicine that includes sacubitril (such as Entresto).

If you suffer from diabetes don't take Accuretic along with any medicine that has the ingredient aliskiren (a blood pressure medication).

 

Before You Take This Drug

It is not recommended to take this medication if you are allergic to hydrochlorothiazide and quinapril,

If you've had a previous history of angioedema If you're unable to go to the bathroom; You recently had the heart medication sacubitril. If you've ever experienced an extreme allergic reaction to an ACE inhibitor (benazepril captopril fosinopril moexipril, lisinopril quinapril, ramipril trandolapril).

Avoid using the medicine if you are expecting it. Stop taking the medication and inform your doctor when you are pregnant. Quinapril can cause injury or even death to an unborn child if you take the medication in the second or third trimester. It is not recommended to breastfeed when using acoustics. Accuretic is not a product that has been approved for use by anyone less than 18 years old.

How to Take Accuretic?

Follow all the instructions on the prescription label and go through all medication guides or instructions. Your doctor may alter your dosage. Consult your physician if you are suffering from persistent nausea or diarrhea or have been sweating more than normal. You could easily get dehydrated when you take Accuretic. This can result in high blood pressure and electrolyte imbalances or kidney failure.

Your blood pressure needs to be monitored regularly and you might require periodic blood tests.

If you need surgery be sure to inform your doctor that you are currently taking this medication. Continue to take this medicine according to the directions regardless of whether you feel good. High blood pressure can have no signs. It could be necessary to take medication to lower your blood pressure throughout your life. Maintain at room temperature, and free of heat, moisture, and light.

What Happens If I Miss a Dose?

Do not take the medicine for as long as you are able, but avoid your missed dosage if you are nearing the time to take the next dose. Don't have two doses at one time.

What Should be Avoided?

 Hydrochlorothiazide can increase the chance of developing Skin cancer. Avoid sun exposure or tanning beds. Be sure to wear protective clothes and apply sunblock (SPF 30 or greater) while you're outdoors. Your physician may ask you to undergo skin exams every few months.Drinking alcohol could increase your blood pressure and could cause the consequences of acoustics.Don't use potassium supplements or salt substitutes when you are taking this medication unless your physician has advised you to.Do not get up too quickly from lying or sitting in a position. You could get dizzy. Be careful not to become dehydrated or hot when exercising or in hot weather or if you don't drink enough fluids. Follow your doctor's advice on the types and amounts of fluids you must consume. In certain situations drinking too much fluid could be as harmful as drinking too little.

Side Effects of Accuretic

Mild Effects

Seek medical attention immediately when you are experiencing symptoms that indicate an allergy (hives and stomach pain that is severe breathing difficulty or a swelling of your throat or face) or an intense skin reaction (fever or burning or sore throats, irritation in your eyes, pain in the skin and red or purple skin eruption that causes peeling and blisters).Accuretics can result in severe adverse negative effects. Contact your physician immediately in the event of the feeling of lightheadedness, as if you're about to pass out blurred vision blurred vision, tunnel vision, eye pain, or seeing halos of light sources; swelling and weight gain the feeling of having a short breath. An abrupt weakness or feeling of ill health such as chills, fever, mouth sores, sores in the throat, and difficulty swallowing high potassium- nausea sensation, tingling chest pain irregular heartbeats, loss of motion; lower potassium level--leg cramps constipation irregular heartbeats chest flutters increased thirst or urination Tingling or numbness muscles becoming weak or feeling limp orLow levels of sodium low levels of sodium- headache and confusion. Also and slurred speech. weakening, vomiting, lack of coordination Feeling unsteady. Common adverse effects of Accuretic could include:

  • Cough;

  • Headache, dizziness;

  • Exhausted feeling tired feeling

  • Muscle pain.

Adverse Side Effects

Alongside its necessary effects, hydrochlorothiazide or quinapril can cause unwanted side adverse effects. While some of these side effects could be present, if they do occur, they might require medical treatment.Talk to your doctor immediately if any of these adverse effects happen while taking hydrochlorothiazide/quinapril

  • Cough making mucus

  • Diarrhea

  • Difficulties breathing

  • Large, hive-like swellings around the eyes, face mouth, lips hands, throat feet, legs, or sexual organs

  • Tightness in the chest

Interaction With Other Drugs

Discuss with your doctor all other medications including:

  • lithium;

  • Everolimus

  • Sirolimus

Temsirolimusan antibiotic--demeclocycline, doxycycline, minocycline, eravacycline, omadacycline, sarecycline, tetracycline; or these are NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs)--aspirin Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), naproxen (Aleve) and celecoxib. diclofenac, indomethacin meloxicam, and others.This list isn't complete. Other medications may interact with Accuretic which includes prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
