
What is Uro-L?
Hyoscyamine is a chemical that produces a range of effects on the body, such as the relief of muscle spasms.
Methenamine as well as Methylene Blue act as mild antiseptics, which fight bacteria that cause urinary tract infections and bladder infections.Phenyl salicylate can be described as a moderate painkiller.Sodium biphosphate is a type of phosphorus. It's naturally occurring and essential in every cell in our body.
Uro-L is a combination medication used to treat bladder irritation (pain spasms, inflammation) that is caused by urinary tract infections. Uro-L also helps stop bladder discomfort in medical procedures.Uro-L can also be used to treat conditions not mentioned in this medication guide.
Side Effects of Uro-L
Contact a medical professional immediately. If you are experiencing warning signs of an allergic response, such as hives, difficulty breathing, or swelling of your lips, face, and tongue,
This medication can cause severe adverse reactions. Stop taking this medicine and consult your physician immediately if you experience:
- Severe dizziness, blurred vision, and a fast heart rate;
- Uncomfortable or difficult to urinate; painful or difficult urination;
- Breathlessness.
Senior citizens are more susceptible to adverse reactions from this medication.
Methylene blue is likely to cause your stools or urine to appear green or blue in hue. This is a common reaction to the drug and won't cause harm.
Common Uro-L side effects could include:
- Dizziness, drowsiness;
- Dry mouth
- Nausea, vomiting.

Warnings
A variety of drugs may interfere with methylene blue. When you are taking this medication, you should not take a break or discontinue any other medication without a physician's guidance.
If you are taking an antidepressant, psychiatric medication, or other medication, contact your doctor immediately if you notice indications of a dangerous drug interaction. This could include confusion, memory issues, and being hyperactive (mentally as w ell as physically). Loss of motor coordination sweating, shivering, diarrhea, or fever.
Before you take this drug
It is not recommended to use this medicine if you're allergic to methenamine, hyoscyamine, methylene blue, phenyl salicylate, or sodium biphosphate.
While you are receiving treatment using this medication, don't take or stop taking any other medication unless your doctor has told you to.
To ensure that this medication is suitable for you, inform your physician if you suffer from:
- Heart disease;
- A heart rhythm disorder
- Congestive heart failure;
- Coronary heart diseases;
- A heart valve disorder;
- Glaucoma;
- An increased prostate or obstruction of the bladder;
- Myasthenia gravis;
- An obstruction or ulcer inside your stomach.
- An allergy, an allergy belladonna (Donnatal and other),
- Allergy salicylates (such as aspirin, choline, magnesium trisalicylate, and magnesium salicylate).
It is unclear if this medication can cause harm to a baby who is not yet born. Inform your physician if you are expecting or planning to become pregnant while taking this medication.
The medicine could be absorbed by the breast milk and could affect a nursing baby. Consult your physician if you are breastfeeding a child.
Don't give the medication to a child unless you have medical guidance.
How to take Uro-L?
Follow all the instructions on the prescription label. Don't take this medication in greater or lesser doses or for longer than prescribed.Drink plenty of fluids when you take this medication.
Hyoscyamine may slow digestion, and it could delay the time it takes for your body to take in any medications you consume by mouth.
Keep the bottle at room temperature, free of heat, moisture, and light. Make sure the bottle is tightly shut when not being used.
What happens if I miss the dose?
Do the dose you missed as soon as you can remember. Avoid your missed dosage if it's nearing the time for the next dose. Don't take any extra medication to make up for the missed dose.

What should be avoided?
Do not take an antacid or anti-diarrhea medication within one hour prior to or following the time you take methenamine or hyoscyamine. Methylene blue, phenyl salicylate, and sodium biphosphate Antacids or anti-diarrhea medicines can hinder your body's ability to absorb hyoscyamine.
If you are also taking ketoconazole (Nizoral), be sure to take at least two hours following the dose before you start taking hyoscyamine, methenamine, and methylene blue. Phenyl salicylate, and sodium biphosphate.
Interaction with other drugs
Many medications can interfere with methylene blue. Discuss with your doctor any other medications you take. You might be required to stop taking certain medications (in certain cases, for at least 5 weeks before you begin treatment with urol). However, don't discontinue taking any medication without consulting your doctor. This includes:
- Any type of antidepressant
- Diuretics, stimulants, anti-cold or allergy medications, and ADHD medication;
- Narcotic pain medication
- Medicine for treating Parkinson's illness (also known as restless leg syndrome);
- A "triptan" migraine headache
If you are taking any of these medicines while receiving treatment with a medication that contains methylene blue, it may result in excessive levels of serotonin within the human body. Contact your physician immediately when you experience symptoms of this disorder, such as disturbances and hallucinations. Also, fever, a rapid heart rate, hyperactive reflexes, nausea, vomiting, loss of coordination, diarrhea, and falling asleep
Numerous drugs may interact with this drug. It is not possible to list all the interactions mentioned here. Hyoscyamine may cause problems with the body's ability to take any other medication that you take orally. Inform your doctor of the medications you take and those you stop or begin using, including:
- Diuretic, also known as a "water pill";
- Medications that alter the acidity of your urine: sodium bicarbonate, potassium citrate, citric acid, or potassium
- Bladder or urinary medicines—darifenacin, fesoterodine, oxybutynin, tolterodine, solifenacin;
- A sulfa drug.
