What is Relexxii?

Relexxii treats attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in children aged 6 and older.Some brands of extended-release tablets can only be used for treating attention deficit disorder among adults younger than 65 and children older than 6 years.Relexxii is also used to treat a sleep disorder known as narcolepsy.Relexxii can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side effects of Relexxii

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction, seek immediate medical attention: difficulty breathing, swelling in your face, lips, or throat, or hives.Certain stimulants can cause heart attacks and sudden deaths in some people.Seek emergency medical care if you have any of the symptoms listed above.

Relexxii may cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • Signs of blood or heart circulation problems: chest discomfort, irregular heartbeat, difficulty breathing, numbness or cold sensation, pale fingers or toes
  • Signs of mania, or psychosis—seeing or hearing something that is not real—aggression, paranoia, and decreased sleep need, as well as risk-taking behaviors, agitation, or talkativeness.
  • A seizure (twitches), changes in vision, or blurred vision
  • An erection that is painful and lasts for 4 hours or longer

Relexxii may affect the growth of children. If your child's growth isn't normal while taking this medicine, tell your doctor.

Relexxii can cause the following side effects:

  • Increased blood pressure; sweating
  • Sleep problems (insomnia) and mood changes cause anxiety.
  • Restlessness, nervousness;
  • Fast or irregular heart rate
  • Loss of appetite Weight loss
  • Dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, upset stomach, or
  • Headache, dizziness.

Warnings

Stimulants can cause strokes, heart attacks, and sudden deaths in people who have high blood pressure or heart disease.Relexxii can become habit-forming. Abuse can lead to addiction, overdose, or death. Keep the medicine in an area where other people cannot get to it.Relexxii cannot be sold or given away.If you experience chest pain, feel light-headed, see or hear things that aren't real, have a decreased need to sleep, become agitated, or have unexplained injuries on your fingers and toes, call your doctor immediately.

Before you take this drug

Relexxii should not be used if:

  • Glaucoma;
  • A personal or family history involving tics or tourette syndrome
  • Trouble swallowing is a sign of problems in the stomach or intestines.
  • Severe anxiety, tension, or agitation. (stimulant medicines can worsen these symptoms.)
  • Inability to digest certain sugars
  • If you've used an mao inhibitor in the last 14 days (such as isocarboxazid or linezolid injections, methylene green injections, phenelzine, or tranylcypromine),

Stimulants can cause strokes, heart attacks, and sudden deaths in some people. Inform your doctor if:

  • Heart problems or defects;
  • High blood pressure
  • A family history of cardiac disease or sudden death
  • If you experience any of these symptoms, tell your doctor.
  • Depression, bipolar disorder or suicidal thoughts or acts.
  • Peripheral arterial disease, such as raynaud syndrome.
  • If you have seizures or epilepsy (eeg), this is a sign.
  • Phenylketonuria;
  • Drug abuse or alcoholism?
  • Allergic reaction to aspirin or yellow food dyes (tartrazine).

Relexxii is not known to harm unborn babies.Tell your doctor immediately if you plan to get pregnant. Your name could be added to a registry if you're pregnant in order to track the effects methylphenidate has on your baby.A doctor can tell you if breastfeeding is safe while taking this medication. Tell your doctor if the baby is agitated, has insomnia, or has feeding problems.

How to take Relexxii?

Follow the directions in the guide or instructions that come with the medication. Your doctor may change your dose. Take the medicine exactly as directed.Relexxii can become habit-forming. Abuse can lead to addiction, overdose, or death. Keep the medicine in an area where other people cannot get to it. Relexxii cannot be sold or given away.If you change the brand, strength, or form of a medicine, your dose requirements may be different. Use only the medication prescribed by your doctor to avoid medication mistakes.Most brands of methylphenidate should be taken between 1 and 3 times per day. Jornay PM should only be taken in the evening. The medicine must not be taken twice a day.Take it with water.Relexxii can be taken with or without food. Just make sure you take it in the same manner every time. Some brands of the drug methylphenidate require that you take it 30 to 45 minutes prior to eating.

Do not chew, crush, break, or open the extended-release capsules or tablets.Open the capsule and mix it with a soft food, such as yogurt or applesauce.It is important to swallow the mixture immediately, without chewing.You may pass a small piece of the extended-release tablet in your stool, but it will not affect its effectiveness.The chewable tablet must be chewed before it can be swallowed.Shake the orally suspended for at least 10 seconds. Measure liquid medication (solution or suspension) using the measuring device supplied (not a spoon).Only when you're ready to take the medicine should you remove the tablet with dry hands from its package. Allow the tablet to dissolve without chewing.Inform your doctor of any planned surgery.You may be required to undergo medical tests in order to determine your heart's function. Inform any doctor that treats you about your use of this medication.Counseling or other treatments may be included in your treatment.Keep leftover medication out of sight. One dose of a medication can be fatal if it is used incorrectly or accidentally. Talk to your pharmacist about the drug take-back programs. In a sealed bag, mix leftover medicine with coffee grounds or cat litter. Then throw it in the garbage.Store tightly in the original container, at room temperature, and away from moisture, light, and heat. Store your medicine where it cannot be misused.

What happens if I miss the dose?

If you are almost due for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Jornay PM: skip the missed dose. Take your next dose as usual. Do not take more than one dose at a time.

What happens if I overdose?

Call Poison Help at 1-800-222-1222 or seek emergency medical care. Relexxii can be deadly in overdose.

What should be avoided?

Do not drink alcohol.Relexxii can affect your reaction time. Avoid driving and other hazardous activities until you are sure of how they will affect you. You may be unable to react properly.

Interaction with other drug

Tell your doctor about your other medications, including:

  • A blood thinner: warfarin Coumadin Jantoven
  • An antacid;
  • Antidepressants are a type of medication.
  • Seizure medication;
  • Decongestants are found in cold or allergy medicines.
