What is Flucelvax PF Quadrivalent 2022-2023?

Influenza (the flu) is a contagious illness caused by a viral infection that can be spread through the air or surfaces. The flu symptoms include fevers, chills, fatigue, aches, a sore throat, coughs, nausea, and diarrhea. Flu can cause other complications, such as ear infections or bronchitis. Influenza is responsible for thousands of deaths and hospitalizations each year. Children, pregnant women, and older adults are at greatest risk, as are people with weak immune systems or other health conditions such as heart disease or cancer. Flucelvax Quadrivalent 2022-2023 can be used by adults and children aged at least six months to prevent influenza virus infection. This vaccine will help your body build immunity, but it won't treat an infection that you already have.

Flucelvax Quadrivalent 2022-2023, developed each year, contains strains of flu virus that have been inactivated or killed that have been recommended by public health officials that year. Flucelvax Quadrivalent 2022-2023, an injectable flu shot, is made of "killed virus." This medicine is available as a nasal spray, which is a "live virus" vaccination. The information in this medication guide is only for the injectable version of this vaccine. Flucelvax Quadrivalent 2022-2023, like any other vaccine, may not protect everyone from disease.
