What is Ferretts IPS?

Ferretts The mineral iron is called IPS. Iron is essential for many body functions, including the transportation of oxygen through the blood. Ferretts IPS treats iron deficiency. Anemia is a condition in which there are not enough red blood cells due to a lack of iron. Ferrett's IP can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side effects of Ferretts IPS

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction, seek immediate medical attention: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of your lips, face, tongue, or throat.

Ferrets can cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • Unusual weakness, tiredness, or drowsiness

  • Heart rate can be fast, slow, or irregular.

  • Bloody or black stools

  • Pale or clammy skin

  • Blue discoloration on your lips, nails, or palms;

  • A seizure;

  • Stomach pain, vomiting;

  • Trouble swallowing

Some of the common side effects that Ferretts IPS can cause include:

  • Indigestion, nausea, vomiting;

  • Diarrhea;

  • Constipation.

Before you take this drug

Ferretts IPS should only be used under medical supervision.

If you have had any of the following:

  • Iron overload syndrome

  • A disorder of the red blood cells, such as thalassemia.

Do not give this medicine without consulting with a physician first. Consult your doctor before taking this medication if you're pregnant or nursing.

How to take Ferretts IPS?

As prescribed by your physician or indicated on the label, adhere to its directions or the guidelines on its packaging. Ferretts IPS taken long-term, or in high doses, can lead to excess iron buildup. Prior to measuring a dose, shake the orally suspended liquid. Dosage should be measured using either the dosing device provided, or another suitable measuring instrument such as an eyedropper (not spoon). This medicine can be taken with or without food. Mix Ferretts with fruit juice or water if desired. To avoid getting the medicine on your teeth, use a straw when drinking the mixture. You can mix this liquid with a little infant formula to be used for bottle feeding when giving it to your baby. To maintain a constant amount of iron, take your doses regularly. The liquid iron medicine you use can temporarily stain your teeth. Baking soda can help reduce stains. Your doctor can provide you with information on how to remove tooth stains from children.

Medical tests will be required frequently. Ferretts IP can take 3 to 6 months to fully benefit from it. You will be treated by your doctor for the prescribed time. Store away from heat and moisture at room temperature. Do not stop taking medication without consulting with your physician first.

What happens if I miss the dose?

If you are almost due for your next dose, skip the missed one. Never take two doses of the same medicine at once.

What happens if I overdose?

Call the Poison Help Line immediately on 1-800-222-1222 - children aged under 6 can die from accidental iron overdose! - or seek emergency medical treatment immediately - the effects can be fatal!

What should be avoided?

Ferrett's IP is not to be shared with anyone else. Take only the vitamins and minerals that your doctor prescribes or recommends.

Interaction with other drug

Take your Ferretts dose at least 2 hours before taking an antacid. Ferretts' IPS may be affected by other drugs, such as prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. Inform your physician of all medications you are currently taking or have begun or stopped taking.
