What is Dex4?
Dex4 treats very low blood glucose, most commonly in patients with type 2 diabetes. Dex4 increases the amount of sugar that is in your blood. Dex4 can also be used as a way to give carbohydrate calories when unable to eat due to illness, trauma, or another medical condition. Sometimes, this medicine is given to those who have become sick after drinking excessive alcohol. Dex4 can also be used for hyperkalemia, which is a condition in which your blood potassium levels are high. Dex4 can also be used in other ways not mentioned in the medication guide.
Side effects of Dex4
If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergy: difficulty breathing, hives, or swelling in your lips, face, throat, tongue, or mouth, seek emergency medical attention.
Dex4 can cause severe side effects. If you experience:
- Confusion;
- A feeling of lightheadedness, as if you could pass out.
- Fever;
- You may experience swelling in your feet or hands.
- Chest pain, severe shortness of breath, and pale skin.

Before you take this drug
If you've ever experienced an allergic reaction after using a Dex4 item, ask your doctor or pharmacist whether Dex4 can be used safely. If you are diabetic, do not take Dex4 unless your doctor has prescribed it.

- Cardiovascular disease, or coronary arterial disease.
- Asthma;
- Kidney disease
- A head injury;
- Alcoholism;
- Allergies to food
Consult your doctor if you're pregnant or nursing before using this medication.
How to take Dex4?
Follow the instructions on the packaging or those prescribed by your physician. The chewable tablet must be chewed before it can be swallowed. Measuring liquid medication is important. Dosing devices are available, but not spoons. To get the full dosage, you should swallow all the contents of a tube containing Dex4 Gel. After taking Dex4 oral, your hypoglycemia should subside in 10 minutes. Take another dose if necessary. If your symptoms don't improve or worsen, call your doctor. If you continue to experience hypoglycemia after two doses, seek medical advice. Keep away from heat and moisture. Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. When not in use, keep the container of medicine tightly closed.
What happens if I miss the dose?
Dex4 does not require a schedule of daily dosages because it is only used as needed. If your symptoms don't improve after taking Dex4, call your doctor.

Call 1-800-222-1222 for poison help or seek immediate medical attention.
What should be avoided?
If your doctor prescribes any restrictions on foods, drinks, or activities, follow their instructions.
Interaction with other drug
Dex4 may be affected by other drugs, including vitamins and herbs. Inform your doctor of all the medicines you are currently taking and those that you will begin or stop using.
