What is Delsym Adult Night Time Multi-Symptom?

Acetaminophen relieves pain and reduces fever. Dextromethorphan suppresses coughing. The cough reflex is affected in the brain. Doxylamine, an antihistamine, reduces histamine's effects in the body. Histamine may cause symptoms such as sneezing and itching. It can also lead to watery eyes and a runny or stuffy nose. Phenylephrine works to decrease nasal blood vessel diameter. Dilated vessels in the nasal passages can lead to congestion. Delsym Adult Multi-Symptom Night is a combination medication used to treat symptoms such as headaches, body pains, fevers, sneezing, and itching caused by colds, allergies, or the flu. The Delsym Night Time Adult Multi-Symptom does not treat coughs caused by smoking or asthma. Delsym Night Time Adult Multi-Symptom can be used in other ways not mentioned in the medication guide.

Side effects of Delsym Adult Night Time Multi-Symptom

If you experience any of the following signs and symptoms of an allergy reaction: difficulty breathing, hives or any signs of swelling such as lips, face, throat or tongue swellings - seek medical assistance immediately! Acetaminophen can cause severe reactions in some people, even when they have never had a reaction before. Call your doctor immediately if the skin becomes red or you develop a rash. If blisters form and you peel them off, stop taking acetaminophen.

The side effects of this medicine can be serious. If you experience:

  • If you feel your heart fluttering or pounding, then this is what it means.
  • Are You Lightheaded / Do You Sense Dizziness? If this describes your condition, feel like fainting may happen suddenly and unexpectedly.
  • Anxiety, fear, and hallucinations;
  • Little or no urinating is acceptable.
  • Pale skin, unusual weakness;
  • Dark urine, clay-colored stools, nausea, upper abdominal pain, itching, and loss of appetite;
  • Chest pain; irregular heartbeats.

Delsym Night Time Adult Multi-Symptom Side Effects may include:

  • Drowsiness;
  • Constipation, diarrhea, upset stomach, vomiting;
  • Feeling restless, excited, or agitated.

Warnings

You should not take this medication if you've taken an MAO inhibitor in the last 14 days. A harmful drug-drug interaction may occur. MAO inhibitors include isocarboxazid, linezolid, methylene blue injection, phenelzine, rasagiline, selegiline, and tranylcypromine. Don't take this medicine in excess. Overdosing on acetaminophen may cause liver damage or death. Acetaminophen can cause severe reactions to the skin in rare instances. If you notice skin redness, a rash, or blisters that are peeling off and spreading on your body, stop taking the medicine immediately and contact your doctor.

Before you take this drug

This medicine should be avoided if you have an allergy to dextromethorphan or any of the other ingredients. If you've taken an MAO inhibitor in the last 14 days, do not take this medication. It is possible that a dangerous drug interaction will occur. There are several MAO inhibitors, including isocarboxazid (linezolid), methylene blue injection, phenelzine, and selegiline. If you are suffering from any other health conditions or symptoms, you should consult your doctor before taking this medication.

  • Liver diseases, alcoholism, or drinking more than three alcoholic drinks per day are all signs of liver disease.
  • Coronary heart disease.
  • Blockage of the digestive system (stomach, intestines);
  • Other urination issues or bladder obstruction
  • Glaucoma;
  • Pheochromocytoma
  • Overactive thyroid gland;
  • If you are taking potassium supplements (K-Lyte or K-Phos),

This medication is known to cause harm to an unborn child. If you are pregnant, do not take this medication without consulting your doctor. Delsym Multi-Symptom Adult Night may be passed into the breast milk, which can harm nursing babies. Antihistamines, decongestants, and antihistamines may slow down breast milk production. If you're breastfeeding, do not take this medication without consulting your doctor.

How to take Delsym Adult Night Time Multi-Symptom?

Do not exceed the recommended dosage or duration. Use only the recommended dose. Do not exceed it. Usually, this medicine should only be taken for a few days until the symptoms disappear. Don't take this medicine in excess. Acetaminophen overdose can result in liver damage or even lead to death.

This medication should not be given to children younger than four years of age. Ask a doctor first before you give a cough medicine or cold medication to your child. Children as young as 4 years old can die from misuse.No longer chew or crush the extended-release tablets. It is best to swallow it whole. If you break the pill, too much drug may be released.Use the provided dosing device, a dose-measuring spoon, or medicine cups. Ask your pharmacist if you don't have one. Pour the tablets into a half cup of water or at least four ounces. This mixture should be stirred and consumed immediately. Do not take more than seven days' worth. Tell your doctor or surgeon if this medication was taken within the last few days and if you are going to need medical testing or surgery. Keep away from heat and moisture.Liquid medicines must not be allowed to freeze.

What happens if I miss the dose?

Delsym Nighttime Adult Multi-Symptom can be taken as needed. You may not have a regular schedule for dosage. Take the missed dosage as soon as possible if you take this medication regularly.If your next dose is coming due, don't take an extra one just yet. Instead, wait and skip it altogether.You should not take more medicine to compensate for a missed dose.

What happens if I overdose?

Call the Poison Help Line at 1-800-222-1222 or seek emergency medical care. Acetaminophen overdoses can lead to death. Loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, sweating, or confusion are the first symptoms of an overdose of acetaminophen. Other symptoms include dark urine and yellowing skin or whites of the eyes.

What should be avoided?

Before using any other medication for colds, allergies, pain, or insomnia, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Many combination medications contain acetaminophen, also known as APAP. Taking some products with each other can result in an overdose of acetaminophen. Alcohol is harmful to your liver. You may experience liver damage if you drink alcohol while taking acetaminophen. It can also increase the side effects of doxylamine. The medicine can cause blurred or impaired vision or affect your ability to think or react. You should be careful when driving or doing anything else that requires alertness and the ability to see clearly.

Interaction with other drug

Before using this medication, ask your doctor or pharmacist if you also use any other medications, such as prescriptions and OTC medicines, vitamins, and herbs. When used in combination, some medicines may cause harmful or unwanted effects. This medication guide does not list all interactions. This medicine can have adverse effects if taken with drugs that cause you to sleep or reduce your breathing.
