What is Zofran ODT?

  • Serotonin levels are high within the body: anxiety, hallucinations, fever, fast heart rate, excessively active reflexes, nausea, diarrhea, inability to control, and fainting.

Common adverse consequences of Zofran ODT can include:

  • Constipation or diarrhea;
  • Headache;
  • Drowsiness;
  • Fatigued feeling.

Before you take this drug

It is not recommended to apply Zofran ODT if:

  • If you're also using the drug apomorphine (Apokyn), also known as
  • You are allergic to Zofran ODT or similar medicines (dolasetron, granisetron, or palonosetron).

To ensure that Zofran ODT is appropriate for you, ask your doctor if you suffer from:

  • Liver disease;
  • An electrolyte imbalance (such as low concentrations of magnesium or potassium within your blood);

How to take Zofran ODT?

Follow the directions on the prescription label. Don't use Zofran ODT in smaller or greater quantities or for a longer time than the recommended time.Zofran ODT is a medicine that can be consumed without or with food.

The initial dose of ondansetron is usually administered prior to the beginning of your chemotherapy, surgery, or radiation therapy.   • Place the tablet in its blister package until you are ready to take it. Unlock the box and peel off the foil. Don't push a tablet into the foil, as you could cause damage to the tablet.
  • Dry hands are the best way to remove the tablet from its packaging and put it in your mouth.
  • Do not take the tablet in its entirety. It will dissolve into your mouth with no chewing.
  • Drink several times until the tablet disintegrates.

To use Zofran ODT-soluble film (strip) (Zuplenz):

  • Place your strip inside the pouch made of foil until you're ready to apply the medication.
  • With clean hands, take the strip from your hands and put it on your tongue. It will begin to break down in a matter of minutes.
  • Don't swallow the entire strip. It will dissolve into your mouth with no chewing..
  • Drink several times until the strip has disintegrated. If you want, take a drink to assist in swallowing the strip that has disintegrated.
  • Cleanse your hands after you have used Zuplenz.

Measure the amount of liquid medicine using the syringe for dosing, a measuring spoon, or a medicine cup. If you don't have an instrument for measuring doses, you can ask your pharmacist for one.

What happens if I miss a dose?

Interaction with other drugs
