What is Zilactin?

There is a Ulesfia product line made of benzyl alcohol topical that is used to treat head lice in individuals who are between the ages of 6 months and 60.

The Zilactin brand of zilactin can be employed to address sores within and around mouths. This includes mouth sores that are cold, canker sores, or gum irritation. Zilactin is suitable for children and adults who are at least 2 years old.Zilactin can also be used for reasons not mentioned in this guideline for medication.

Side effects of Zilactin

Contact a medical professional immediately. Get medical attention immediately if you notice symptoms that indicate an allergic reaction, such as hives, difficulty breathing, or swelling of your lips, face, and tongue.

If the medicine is absorbed into your eye or onto your skin, wash with water. Consult your physician immediately in the event of extreme itching or irritation to your eyes or skin after washing.

This medicine could trigger severe adverse effects. Take this medicine off and consult your physician immediately if you suffer from:

  • swelling;
  • skin skin;
  • fever
  • increasing redness, pain, or irritation.

Common adverse effects of zilactin could include:

  • eye irritation,
  • Itching or numbness after applying this medication.

Before you take this drug

Inform your doctor if you were ever diagnosed with:

  • any skin issues, such as
  • Any other medical conditions.

Zilactin is a component that can result in serious side effects or even death for premature infants or very young infants.

  • Don't apply Ulesfia to a baby who is less than six months old. Also, inform your doctor that the baby's birth was premature.
  • Zilactin should not be used in children under the age of two.

Consult your physician if you are nursing or pregnant.

It is not recommended to breastfeed when using Ulesfia.

How to take Zilactin?

Follow the directions on the prescription label and also read all medication guides or instruction sheets. Make sure you use the medicine precisely as directed.Do not let a small child use zilactin if they do not have assistance from an adult.

Don't take Ulesfia by mouth. It's only intended for use on the hair and scalp. It is possible to put Zilactin on mouth sores; however, do not ingest the gel.

Be sure to read and adhere to any instructions that are included in your medication. Consult your physician or pharmacist for clarification if you are unsure of the instructions.Cleanse your hands with detergent and water following the application of this treatment.Don't wet your scalp or hair before applying Ulesfia. Use enough of the lotion to wash your hair and scalp and massage them thoroughly.

Apply the lotion for 10 minutes while keeping your eyes closed and covered with a towel for this period. Rinse thoroughly with water. Use a fine-tooth nit-hair comb to get rid of lice eggs from your hair. Rinse the comb frequently throughout its use. Remove the nits in a plastic bag and then throw it in the garbage to stop the reinfestation.

Zilactin is not able to remove the lice egg. Therefore, you should make another application for this medication 7 days after the first one.Clean all hats, clothing, bedding sheets, clothes, and towels in hot water. dry with high temperatures. Dry-clean any clothing that isn't washable. Combs, hair brushes, and hair accessories need to be submerged in hot water.

Apply Zilactin only to the sore or cold oral ulcer and not to the skin around it or the gums.Zilactin gel sets into an opaque protective film. To get rid of the film, first apply a second layer of gel, and then clean the area using a damp towel or gauze. Don't attempt to take off the film.Do not take Zilactin for more than seven consecutive days. Stop using the medication and consult your physician if the mouth sore doesn't improve after seven days or if it becomes worse or clears up only to return after a couple of days.

Keep at room temperature, free of heat and moisture. Avoid freezing.Zilactin has been proven to be inflammable. Do not apply it near extreme temperatures or an open flame. Don't smoke until the gel has completely dried off on the skin.

What happens if I miss a dose?

Consult your physician if you haven't had your second dose of Ulesfia.

Avoid this

Beware of zilactin getting into your eyes.

Beware of getting Ulesfia in your mouth or eyes. It's intended for use on the hair and scalp.

To stop lice from spreading Avoid head-to-head contact with anyone else up to the point that you are sure that your lice infection has gone away. Do not share your hairbrushes, combs, and accessories such as hats, scarves, and pillows. The spread of lice is extremely high.

Interaction with other drugs

Skin care products are unlikely to be affected by any other medications you take. But there are many drugs that interfere with each other. Inform your health care providers about the medications you take, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal remedies.
