What is Vilamit M.B.?

Hyoscyamine has many effects on the body, including the relief of muscle spasms.Methenamine and methylene blue are mild antiseptics that fight bacteria found in the bladder and urine.The mild pain-relieving effect of phenyl salicylate can be found in this drug.

Sodium biphosphate, a naturally occurring substance, is a form of phosphorus.Vilamit MB, a combination medication, is used to treat bladder irritation caused by a urinary tract infection. Vilamit MB can also be used to reduce bladder discomfort when undergoing a medical procedure.Vilamit MB can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side Effects of Vilamit MB

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction, seek immediate medical attention: difficulty breathing, hives, swelling of the face, lips, or throat.

This medicine can cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • Severe dizziness, blurred vision, and a fast heart rate;
  • Urination that is painful or difficult
  • Shortness of breath

This medication may have more side effects for older adults.Your urine or stools will likely appear green or blue if you use methylene blue. This is not a harmful side effect and is normal.

Some of the common side effects associated with Vilamit MB include:

  • Dizziness, drowsiness;
  • Dry Mouth;
  • Nausea, vomiting.

Warnings

Methylene blue can interact with many drugs. Make sure to get advice from your physician before changing medications without consulting him/her first.

Call your doctor if you experience any of the following signs: confusion, memory issues, feeling hyperactive, loss of coordination (mentally or physically), muscle twitching, or shivering. You may also have diarrhea or a fever.

Before you take this drug

This medicine should not be used if you have an allergy to methenamine or hyoscyamine.Do not stop or start taking any other medication unless you are told to by your doctor.

Inform your doctor if any of the following occur to ensure that this medication is suitable for you:

  • Heart disease
  • A heart rhythm disorder.
  • Congestive heart failure;
  • Coronary Heart Disease
  • A heart valve disorder;
  • Glaucoma;
  • An enlarged bladder;
  • Myasthenia gravis;
  • An ulcer or obstruction of the stomach.
  • Belladonna, Donnatal, or other belladonna products may cause an allergic reaction.
  • Salicylates can cause an allergic reaction (such as aspirin, choline, trisalicylate, and magnesium salt).

This medication is not known to harm an unborn child. If you plan to get pregnant or are already pregnant, tell your doctor.

This medicine may pass into breast milk and harm a nursing infant. You should tell your doctor if a child is breastfed.Do not administer this medicine to an infant without consulting a doctor.

How to take Vilamit MB?

Do not take this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. Take this medication only as prescribed. Do not exceed the recommended dosage or take it for longer.

Take this medication with plenty of fluids.Hyoscyamine may slow down your digestion and make it harder for you to absorb medicines that you take orally.Store away from heat, moisture, and light. When not in use, keep the bottle tightly shut.

What happens if I miss the dose?

As soon as you recall, take the missed dose. If your next scheduled dosage is approaching, skip the missed dose. You should not take more medicine to compensate for a missed dose.

What happens if I overdose?

Call 1-800-222-1222 for poison help or seek immediate medical attention.

What should be avoided?

Avoid taking antacids or anti-diarrhoea medicines within an hour of hyoscyamine or methenamine. Anti-diarrhoea medicines or antacids can reduce the absorption of hyoscyamine.

Wait at least two hours after you have taken ketoconazole before taking hyoscyamine (methenamine), methylene green, sodium biphosphate, or phenyl-salicylate.

Interaction with other drug

Methylene blue can interact with many drugs.Inform your physician of all the medications you are currently taking. Some medicines may have to be stopped (in some cases, for as long as 5 weeks) before Vilamit MB can be prescribed. Do not discontinue medication without first consulting with your healthcare provider.

  • Any type of antidepressant
  • ADHD medication includes stimulants, cold and allergy medications, diet pills, or other stimulants.
  • Narcotic pain medication
  • Treatment for Parkinson's disease, restless legs syndrome,
  • A "triptan". Migraine headache

If any of the symptoms above occur, seek medical assistance as soon as possible.If you experience any of the following symptoms, call your doctor immediately: agitation; hallucinations; fever; fast heartbeats and reflexes.

This medicine can interact with many drugs. This list does not include all possible interactions. Hyoscyamine may also make it more difficult for you to absorb other medications that you take orally. Tell your doctor if you change or stop taking any medications.

  • A diuretic, or "water pill".
  • Sodium Bicarbonate potassium Citrate sodium Citrate with citric acid or potassium
  • Bladder or urinary medicines—darifenacin, fesoterodine, oxybutynin, tolterodine, solifenacin;
  • A sulfa drug.

Vilamit MB can interact with many other drugs. Included are prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. List all of your medications with any healthcare professional who treats you.
