Ulesfia

It is believed that the Ulesfia brand name was taken off the market within the U.S. If the generic version of this product is approved by the FDA, it is possible that there are similar products that are generic.

What is Ulesfia?

Ulesfia lotion is a medicine to combat parasites. Ulesfia cream is used for treating head lice in individuals aged between 6 months and sixty years of age. Ulesfia is used to treat head lice exclusively. It is not able to treat lice that are found on other body parts.

Warnings

Ulesfia gel is used in treating lice on the head problems in individuals between six months and sixty years of age. The medicine does not treat lice that are found on other body parts. Don't apply Ulesfia to a child or infant less than six months old. If Ulesfia lotion is found in the eyes of your face or around your body, wash with water. Consult your physician right away in case you experience intense itching, stinging, or irritation to the eyes or skin after washing. Avoid contact head-to-head with anyone else. Avoid sharing hair combs, brushes, accessories for hair, caps, pillows, and scarves. The spread of lice is extremely high.

Prior to use this drug

To ensure that Ulesfia is suitable for you, ask your doctor if you've previously had:

  • Any skin condition, such as
  • Or any other medical condition.

Ulesfia lotion is a source of an ingredient that could cause serious adverse side effects or even death in very small or premature babies.

  • Don't use Ulesfia lotion on infants younger than 6 months, and inform your healthcare provider when the baby's birth was premature.

How to take Ulesfia?

Utilize Ulesfia lotion according to the directions given by your physician. Follow all instructions on the prescription label and go through all the medication guides or instructions on the label. Do not let a small child take this medication without the assistance of an adult. Do not consume Ulesfia by mouth. It is only for use on the scalp and hair.

Be sure to read and adhere to any instructions for use that are included in your medication. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor if you don't understand the instructions. Cleanse your hands with detergent and water following the application of this treatment. Don't wet your scalp or hair prior to using Ulesfia lotion. Make sure you apply enough Ulesfia lotion so that it will wash your hair and scalp and massage it well.

Apply the lotion for 10 minutes while keeping your eyes closed and covered with towels during this time. Rinse thoroughly by using water. Use a nit comb that has a fine tooth to get rid of lice eggs from your hair. Rinse the comb frequently throughout the use. Then, place the nits you have removed in an airtight plastic bag and dispose of them in the trash to stop reinfestation. Ulesfia is not able to get rid of lice eggs. Therefore, you should make another application of this remedy 7 days after the first application.

Clean all hats and clothing, as well as bed clothes, towels, and linens, in hot water, then dry at high temperatures. Dry-clean all clothing that is not washable. Hair brushes, combs, and hair accessories need to be rinsed in hot water. Storage at room temperature is free of heat and moisture. Don't freeze.

What happens if I miss the dose?

Consult your physician if you haven't applied your second dose of Ulesfia lotion.

What should be avoided?

Beware of getting this medication in your eyes. Beware of getting Ulesfia cream in your mouth or eyes. It's only for use on the hair and scalp.

Side effects of Ulesfia

See a doctor immediately. If you show symptoms of an allergic reaction, such as hives, breathing problems, or swelling of your lips, face, and throat,

If the medication gets into your eyes or onto your skin, wash it off with water. Consult your physician immediately in the event of intense itching, stinging, or irritation of your skin or eyes after washing.

Stop taking this medicine and contact your doctor immediately if you experience:

  • Swelling;
  • The skin-rash;
  • Fever or
  • More severe redness, pain, or irritation.

Common Ulesfia side effects can include:

  • Eye irritation; or
  • Itching or numbness after applying this medication

Interaction with other drugs

The skin care treatment will not be affected by any other medications that you are taking. However, many medications can interfere with each other.
