What is Slowmag Muscle + Heart?

Magnesium and calcium are minerals that occur naturally. Calcium is necessary for bone maintenance and formation. Magnesium is essential for muscle function and heart rhythm.

Slowmag Muscle and Heart is a combination of medicines used as a dietary supplement. Slowmag Muscle+Heart is used when the minerals in your diet are not enough or when you lose them through perspiration. This medication guide does not list all possible uses for slowmag Muscle + Heart.

Side effects of Slowmag Muscle + Heart

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction, seek immediate medical attention: difficulty breathing, hives, swelling of the face, lips, or throat.

Call your doctor immediately if:

  • The symptoms of nausea include vomiting, loss of appetite, and increased thirst or urination.
  • Muscle pain, or weakness joint pain.
  • Feeling tired or restless is a common feeling of confusion.
  • Feeling drowsy.

Side effects of slowmag Muscle and Heart include:

  • Diarrhea;
  • Constipation
  • Upset stomach.

Before you take this drug

Slowmag Muscle + Heart should not be used if you've ever had an allergy reaction to an antiacid or vitamin/mineral product that contains calcium carbonate or magnesium chloride.

If you suffer from:

  • Kidney disease
  • A history of renal stones
  • Heart disease
  • A blockage in the intestines.

Pregnant or breastfeeding women may require different doses.

How to take Slowmag Muscle + Heart?

Follow the instructions on the label or those prescribed by your doctor. Do not chew or crush the tablet. Store away from heat and moisture at room temperature.

What happens if I miss the dose?

You may not have a regular dosing routine, as slowmag Muscle + Heart can be used whenever needed. If the next dose is approaching, any missed one should be skipped. Never take two doses in one go.

What happens if I overdose?

Call 1-800-222-1222 for poison help or seek immediate medical attention.

What should be avoided?

Slowmag Muscle and Heart should not be taken with other medications.

Interaction with other drug

Calcium carbonate may make certain drugs less effective by making it difficult for the body to absorb them. Take your slowmag Muscle+Heart dose two hours before or after taking other medications.

Inform your doctor of all medications you are currently taking, including:

  • Anti-biotic
  • Heart or blood pressure medication;
  • Medicine to treat osteoporosis and Paget’s disease (of the bone): Actonel Boniva, Fosamax Reclast Zometa
