What is Simply sleep?

Simply sleep is a powerful antihistamine used to treat symptoms of colds and allergies, including sneezing. Simply sleep can also be used to treat motion sickness and induce sleep. It is also prescribed to treat some symptoms of parkinson’s disease. This sleep medicine is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.

There are several brands and forms of diphenhydramine available. This leaflet does not list all brands. This medication guide does not list all possible uses for simply sleep.

Side effects of Simply sleep

If you experience any of the following signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction: difficulty breathing, hives, facial, lip, or throat swelling and difficulty swallowing, please seek medical assistance immediately: difficulty in taking deep breaths.

Simply sleeping can cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • Severe sleepiness
  • Urination that is painful or difficult

In older adults, side effects like dryness of the mouth and constipation may be more common.

Side effects that simply sleeping can cause include:

  • Drowsiness;
  • Dry eyes and blurred vision
  • Dry mouth, nose, or throat
  • Reduced urination
  • Constipation;
  • Feeling restless or excited, especially in children
  • After nighttime use, you may feel drowsy or have a "hangover".

Warnings

Follow the directions exactly. Too much sleep may cause serious heart problems. Epilepsy can lead to seizures, comas and even death. This medicine should not be used to induce sleep in children under 12 years of age.

Before you take this drug

If you have an allergy to simply sleep, it is best not to use the product.

If you have had any of the following:

  • Urination or prostate problems;
  • Copd or any other breathing disorder
  • Glaucoma;
  • A thyroid disorder.

Before using this medication, consult your doctor if you're pregnant or nursing. Simply sleeping may reduce breast milk production.

How to take Simply sleep?

Simply sleep should only be used as directed by your doctor or on the label. Simply put, sleep should only be used for a short time until symptoms are resolved. Too much sleep may cause serious heart problems. It can also lead to seizures, comas, and even death. Simply sleep should be administered according to the instructions on the label. Do not use this medicine to make your child sleepy. Misuse of antihistamines can lead to death in young children.

Sleep can be taken 30 minutes prior to a motion-sickness situation (such as an aeroplane flight, a boat ride, or a trip through a theme park). Take this medicine at mealtimes and before bedtime until you are no longer in a situation that causes motion sickness. Simply sleep can be taken 30 minutes prior to bedtime as a sleep aid.

Before swallowing, chewable tablets must first be chewed thoroughly. Measuring liquid medicine is important. Use the provided dosing device or a dose-measuring tool (not a spoon). Oral disintegrating tablets should only be taken when ready. Simply place the tablet into your mouth without chewing, and allow it to dissolve over several swallows.

If your condition is not improving after using simply sleep or you experience a headache or skin rash, call your doctor. Simply sleep should not be used for more than two weeks to treat sleep disorders or seven days to treat colds or allergy symptoms. Allergy skin tests can be affected by simply sleep. Inform any doctor that you see about simply sleep. Store away from heat and moisture at room temperature.

What happens if i miss the dose?

You may not have a regular dosing regimen since simply sleep is taken as needed. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip any missed dose. Never take two doses in one go.

What happens if i overdose?

Call poison help at 1-800-222-1222 or seek emergency medical care. A diphenhydramine overdose can be fatal.

Overdose symptoms include vomiting, confusion, severe drowsiness, ringing in the ears, a very dry mouth and eyes, dilated pupils, rapid heartbeats, tremors, agitation, hallucinations, or seizures.

What should be avoided?

Simply sleeping can affect your reaction time. Refrain from driving and engaging in other risky activities until you know exactly how they will impact you. You may be unable to react properly. Diphenhydramine can be exacerbated by alcohol.

Before using any other medication that contains simply sleep, consult your doctor or pharmacist. These include medicines used to treat sleep problems, allergy symptoms, or colds, and anti-itch creams applied directly to the skin. Overdosing on this medication can lead to death.

Interaction with other drug

Before using simply sleep, consult your doctor or pharmacist. This is especially important if you are taking any medications that may cause drowsiness, such as an opioid, sleep medication, muscle relaxer, medication for anxiety, or seizures. Inform your doctor of all of the medications you are currently taking as well as those you are beginning or discontinuing to use.
