What is Reyvow?
Reyvow acts as a serotonin (5HT) receptor 1F agonist.Review can be used to treat migraine headaches in adults, with or without an aura.Review is only a treatment and does not prevent migraine headaches.
Warnings
Reyvow contains lasmiditan, which is an addictive drug that people can abuse.This medicine should be kept in a secure place to prevent theft. Reyvow can harm others, so never give it to someone else. It is illegal to sell or give Reyvow away.Do not take more than one dose per 24 hours.Avoid driving and other dangerous activities for at least 8 hours following the use of Reyvow.
Before you take this drug
Tell your doctor about any of the following to ensure that Reyvow will be safe for you:
- An allergy to lasmiditan
- Liver disease
- Slow heartbeats
- High blood pressure (hypertension)
- Drug Addiction.
Make sure you tell your doctor if you are also taking stimulant medicines, opioid medications, herbal supplements, or medication for mental illness, depression, or migraine headaches. Also, let them know if they prescribe medicine to treat Parkinson's disease, migraines, serious infections, or prevent nausea or vomiting. This medication may cause serotonin-induced syndrome, a serious condition.You may find your name on a registry for pregnant women to track the effects lasmiditan has on the child.Inform your doctor immediately if you plan to get pregnant. Lasmiditan is not known to harm an unborn child. Having migraine headaches while pregnant can cause complications, such as eclampsia. This is a dangerously high level of blood pressure, which can cause medical problems for both mother and child. Treatment of migraines can be beneficial to both mother and baby.Breastfeeding may not be possible while taking this medication. You should consult your doctor if you are concerned about any risks.
How to take Reyvow?
Follow all instructions listed on your prescription label and read any medication guides or instruction sheets that come with your medication. Read all the instructions and directions that come with your prescription. Sometimes your doctor will change the dose.Reyvow can be highly addictive; any misuse can result in addiction, overdose or death. Make sure it remains in an inaccessible location away from children as selling or giving this medicine is illegal.Reyvow should be taken as soon as you experience headache symptoms.Do not chew, crush, or break the tablet.Do not take more than one dose per 24 hours.This medicine can be taken with or without food.Do not exceed the recommended dosage. The overuse of migraine headache medication can worsen headaches. If the medication seems to be less effective in treating migraine attacks, tell your doctor.If your headache does not go away or you get more than four headaches within a month (30 days), call your doctor.Store away from heat and moisture at room temperature.Track your medication. Be aware of anyone who is misusing your medicine or using it without a valid prescription.
Details on dosage
Adult dose for migraine:
Initial dose: 50mg, 100mg, or 200 mg orally
Maximum dose: 1 dose per day.
Comments:
This drug should only be taken by patients who can wait at least 8 hours before driving or operating any machinery.
No more than one dose per 24 hours is recommended. A second dose was not shown to be effective in treating the same migraine.
The safety of treating more than four migraine attacks on average in a 30-day period has not yet been proven.
This drug is not recommended for the prevention or treatment of migraines.
Use: To treat acute migraines with or without an aura.
What happens if I miss the dose?
Reyvow does not require a daily dosage schedule because it is only used when necessary. If your migraine symptoms don't improve after taking this medication, call your doctor.
What happens if I overdose?
Call 1-800-222-1222 for poison help or seek immediate medical attention.
What should be avoided?
Do not drive or engage in any other dangerous activity for 8 hours after taking Reyvow. You may be impaired and not even realize it.Alcohol consumption can have side effects when taken with this medication.
Side effects of Reyvow
If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, or throat, and/or seek emergency medical attention,Serotonin syndrome symptoms include: hallucinations and agitation; fever, sweating, or shivering; rapid heartbeat; muscle stiffness or twitching; and loss of coordination.
Reyvow may cause side effects such as:
- Dizziness, drowsiness;
- Feeling tired or
- Numbness or tingling

Interaction with other drug
Reyvow can make you more drowsy. Before taking opioids, sleeping pills, muscle relaxers, or medications for anxiety or seizures, consult your doctor.Lasmiditan can interact with many drugs. These include prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. This list does not include all possible interactions. Inform your doctor of all medications you are currently taking and those that you will stop or start using.
