What is Optigene 3?
Tetrahydrozoline acts as a vasoconstrictor. It reduces the redness of the eye by narrowing swollen vessels.
Optigene (for the eye) provides temporary relief from minor redness, swelling, or drainage of the eyes caused by minor irritations.Optigene can also be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.
Side effects of Optigene 3
If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction, seek emergency medical attention: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of your lips, face, tongue, or throat.
Optigene 3 may cause serious side effects. If you experience:
- Eye redness that persists or worsens
- Eye pain
- Changes in your vision
- Chest pain is characterized by a fast or irregular heartbeat.
- Feeling short of breath, having a severe headache, or buzzing in the ears
Optigene 3 can cause the following side effects:
- Mild burning or stinging in the eyes;
- Watery eyes, blurred vision,
- Dilated pupils

Warnings
Optigene 3 provides temporary relief from minor irritations or redness of the eyes.
If you experience eye pain or redness that persists or worsens, or if your vision changes, stop using Optigene 3. Call your doctor immediately.
Before you take this drug
If you have an allergy to Optigene 3, then it is best not to use the product.
If you have any other medical conditions or concerns, ask your doctor or pharmacist whether it's safe to take the medicine.

It is unknown if Optigene 3 can harm an unborn child. If you plan to get pregnant or are already pregnant, tell your doctor.
There is no way to know if tetrahydrozoline ophthalmic can pass into breast milk or if it will harm a baby who is nursing. You should tell your doctor if a child is breastfed.
How to take Optigene 3?
Do not exceed the recommended dosage or duration. Use the recommended dose and do not exceed it.
Overuse or abuse of medication may exacerbate symptoms and damage blood vessels in your eyes, potentially worsening symptoms further and possibly leading to damage of eye arteries.Before using eye drops, wash your hands.
How to apply eye drops
- To create a pocket, tilt your head slightly back and pull your lower eyelid down. The tip of the dropper should be pointing down. Squeeze out a few drops by looking up and away.
- Close your eyes and press gently on the inner corner of each eye for approximately one minute to stop liquid from draining down to your tear ducts.
- Only use the recommended number of drops.
Avoid touching the tip or placing it directly on your eye. If the dropper is contaminated, it can cause serious vision problems.If the liquid is discolored or contains particles, do not use it.Store away from moisture or heat at room temperature. Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. When not in use, keep the bottle tightly sealed.
What happens if I miss the dose?
You may not have a schedule for Optigene 3. If you have a regular schedule, take the missed dose as quickly as you can. If your next scheduled dosage is approaching, skip the missed dose. You should not take extra medicine to compensate for a missed dose.
What happens if I overdose?
Overdoses of tetrahydrozoline are not dangerous. If anyone accidentally swallows the medication, seek emergency medical attention. You can also call Poison Help at 1-800-222-1222.
Optigene 3: Keep it out of reach of children. Some eye drops can cause serious health problems if a child accidentally swallows or sucks the medicine.
What should be avoided?
Use this medication only when you are not wearing contact lenses. Optigene 3, which may contain a chemical preservative, can cause soft contact lenses to discolor. Wait 15 minutes after taking this medication before you put on your lenses.
Interaction with other drug
Tetrahydrozoline in the eye is unlikely to interact with other drugs that you may take orally or by injection. Many drugs interact with each other. Inform your healthcare provider about the medicines you take, including prescriptions and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
