What is Lupron Depot Ped?

Lupron Depot_Ped stimulates the body to produce hormones too much, causing it to temporarily shut down. This medication reduces the amount of testosterone or oestrogen in women.Lupron Depot-Ped is prescribed to men for the treatment of prostate cancer symptoms (but not the cancer). This medicine is prescribed to women for the treatment of endometriosis or fibroids.Lupron Depot Ped can also be used to treat early puberty (early onset) in males and females older than 2 years.Lupron Depot Ped can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side effects of Lupron Depot-Ped

If you experience symptoms of an allergic response (hives or sweating), a severe reaction to a substance (swelling in the face or throat, rapid heartbeat, dizziness, or difficulty breathing), or if your skin is inflamed (fever, sore mouth, burning eyes, pain in your skin, or rashes that are red or purple and cause blisters and peeling), seek emergency medical attention.

Lupron Depot-Ped may cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • Problems with the pituitary: sudden, severe headache or vomiting; changes in your mood or behaviour
  • If you have pain in your bones or a loss of mobility anywhere on your body, this is a sign of bone pain.
  • Rapid weight gain and swelling
  • A seizure;
  • Unusual changes in mood or behaviour (crying, anger, feeling irritable, etc.)
  • Wheezing; dry cough;
  • Urination that is painful or difficult
  • High sugar: increased thirst, increased urination, and hunger dry mouth.

Serious side effects can occur. Contact your doctor immediately if:

  • Pain or unusual sensations, numbness or weakness in your legs and feet, or a tingling feeling
  • Loss of control of the bowels or bladder; muscle weakness or loss;
  • Heart attack symptoms: chest pain or pressure; pain spreading to the jaw or shoulder; nausea.
  • Signs of a stroke include sudden numbness and weakness, especially on one side of your body. You may also experience severe headaches or slurred words.

Side effects of Lupron Depot Ped include:

  • Pituitary gland disorders
  • Cold symptoms include a stuffy nose, sneezing, and a sore throat. Cough with or without mucus.
  • Fever, fatigue, feeling unwell;
  • Stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, and constipation;
  • Wheezing, chest pain, and difficulty breathing
  • Sweating, hot flashes;
  • Dizziness, mood changes;
  • Headache, general pain;
  • Vaginal swelling or itching;
  • Weight changes
  • Reduced testicle size
  • Reduced interest in sex
  • Redness, swelling, or oozing at the site of the injection

Warnings

When you start taking Lupron Depot Ped, your symptoms may temporarily get worse. If this persists for more than two months, tell your doctor.If you experience a seizure or notice any unusual changes in your mood or behaviour, call your doctor immediately.Do not use it if you are pregnant.

Before you take this drug

Lupron Depot Ped should not be used if you're allergic to it or other similar medications such as goserelin, histrelin, or nafarelin. You also shouldn't use it if your doctor hasn’t checked for abnormal vaginal bleeds.Lupron Depot Ped can cause birth defects. Do not use this product if pregnant. Inform your doctor immediately if you are pregnant.Some brands or strengths Leuprolide should only be prescribed to men. They are not recommended for women or children. Check your medication to ensure you are receiving the right brand and strength.

Tell your doctor about any of the following:

  • Psychosis or mental illness
  • Seizures or epilepsy;
  • A blood vessel disorder;
  • A brain tumour or spinal cord injury;
  • Heart disease, congestive cardiac failure, long QT syndrome
  • An electrolyte imbalance can be caused by a low potassium or magnesium level in the blood.
  • Risk factors for bone loss include: smoking (personal or familial history), alcohol consumption, long-term use of steroid and seizure medications, or a family history.

This medicine should not be given to children without medical advice.Lupron Depot Ped can cause women to stop having periods or ovulating. You may still be able to get pregnant. To prevent pregnancy, use a diaphragm or condom with spermicide. The medicine may make hormone birth control less efficient (birth control pills, injections, skin patches, vaginal rings).If you continue to have periods while taking this medication, call your doctor.This medicine should not be used while breastfeeding.

How to take Lupron Depot Ped?

Read all instructions or guides that come with your medication and follow all directions. Follow the directions on the label.Leuprolide is available in different strengths or brands to treat various conditions. You must only use the brand and strength that your doctor prescribed. Check your medications to ensure you are receiving the brand and type that your doctor prescribed.Lupron Depot Ped is injected into the muscle or under the skin once a month, or every 3 to 6 weeks. You can learn how to use the medicine properly yourself from a healthcare provider.Please read and follow all instructions for use that come with your medicine. If you do not understand the instructions, don't use the Lupron Depot Ped. If you have any questions, ask your pharmacist or doctor.As your hormones adjust, you may experience a temporary worsening of symptoms. During the first few weeks of treatment, a child may experience increased symptoms of puberty.Continue to use the medicine according to instructions, and inform your doctor if you still feel worse 2 months after taking this medication.Lupron Depot Ped may require frequent medical testing. It may be necessary to check the growth of bones in children treated with Fensolvi.Keep Lupron at room temperature and away from heat, moisture, and heat. Protect from light.Keep Eligard and Fensolvi refrigerated. Do not freeze. Do not freeze. Mixed medicine must be consumed within 30 minutes.Store Eligard and Fensolvi at room temperature for up to eight weeks.Only use a needle or syringe once, and then store them in a "sharps container" that is puncture-proof. Interaction with other drug

Lupron Depot Ped can cause serious heart problems. You may have a higher risk if you are also taking other medications for heart problems, asthma, or depression.Lupron Depot Ped may be affected by other drugs, such as prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.Informing your physician of all medications you are currently taking and any new ones you begin or stop taking is extremely important for his/her own wellbeing and safety.
