Jock itch powder is an antifungal medicine that combats infections caused by fungus.Lotrimin Jock Itch Powder (for the skin) is used to treat skin infections such as athletes' foot and jock itch. It also treats ringworm and yeast infections.Lotrimin Jock Itch powder may be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Seek immediate medical care if you have difficulty breathing, hives or swelling in the lips, face, or throat.

How to take Lotrimin Jock Itch Powder?

Do not exceed the recommended dosage or duration. Use the recommended dose and do not exceed it.Do not swallow. Lotrimin Jock Itch powder is only for skin use.You should wash your hands both before and after you use Lotrimin Jock Itch powder, unless it is to treat a hand infection.Dry and clean the affected area. Apply a small amount (usually twice daily for two to four weeks) of the cream.Only cover the area treated if you are told to by your doctor. Avoid bandages and dressings that prevent air circulation. Use a light cotton-gauze dressing to protect clothing.Do not stop taking the medicine before it is completely cleared. You may experience symptoms before the infection has completely cleared. You may increase your chances of a re-infection that is resistant to the antifungal medication if you skip doses.If your symptoms worsen or your condition doesn't improve after four weeks of treatment, call your doctor.Keep away from moisture and heat at room temperature.

What happens if I miss the dose?

Apply the missed dose as soon you remember. Skip the missed dose if your next dose is near. You should not take extra medicine to compensate for a missed dose.

What happens if I overdose?

Overdoses of Lotrimin Jock Itch Powder are not considered dangerous. If anyone accidentally swallows the drug, seek emergency medical care or call Poison Help at 1-800-222-1222.

What should be avoided?

Do not get this medication into your eyes, mouth, nose, or other sensitive areas.If your doctor has not instructed you otherwise, do not use other skin medications to treat the same areas that you have treated with Lotrimin Jock Iitch Powder.Avoid wearing clothing with tight-fitting synthetic fabrics that prevent air circulation. Clothing made from loose cotton or other natural fibres should be worn until the infection has healed.

Interaction with other drug

Clotrimazole applied topically is unlikely to be affected by other drugs that you may take orally or even inject. Many drugs interact with each other. Inform your healthcare providers of all medications you take, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
