What is Irenka?

Irenka, also known as SNRI (serotonin- and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor antidepressant), is a SNRI. Irenka treats major depression in adults. This medicine can also be used to treat anxiety disorders in both adults and children older than 7 years. Irenka can also be used to treat chronic muscle or joint pain in adults, such as low lower back pain or osteoarthritis.

Some brands of duloxetine can also be used to treat fibromyalgia, a chronic pain disorder. Drizalma can only be used to treat fibromyalgia in adults. Cymbalta is used to treat fibromyalgia among adults and children over 13 years of age. Irenka can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side effects of Irenka

If you experience symptoms of an allergic reaction, such as hives, difficulty breathing, swelling on your face or in your throat, or a severe reaction to the skin (fever or sore throat with burning eyes, skin pain or blistering, or a red or purple rash), seek emergency medical attention.

Tell your doctor if there are any sudden or new changes in mood, behavior, or feelings, such as new or worse depressive or anxious symptoms, panic attacks, or trouble sleeping. Also, tell them if you're feeling impulsive, agitated, hostile, restless, or more talkative.

Irenka can cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • If you feel your heart pounding or your chest fluttering, then this is a sign that it's time to seek medical attention.
  • A feeling of lightheadedness, as if you could pass out.
  • Easy bruising and unusual bleeding
  • Vision changes
  • Urination that is painful or difficult
  • Liver problems—right-sided upper stomach pain, itching, dark urine, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes);
  • Low blood sodium: headache; confusion; difficulty with memory or thinking; weakness; or feeling unsteady.
  • Manic episodes: racing thoughts, increased energy and decreased sleep need, risk-taking behavior, agitation, or talkativeness

Serotonin syndrome symptoms include: hallucinations and agitation; fever, sweating, or shivering; rapid heartbeat; muscle stiffness or twitching; and loss of coordination.

Irenka side effects may include:

  • Drowsiness;
  • Constipation and nausea are both symptoms of a loss of appetite.
  • Dry Mouth;
  • Increased sweating

Warnings

Suicidal thoughts can occur in people with mental illness or depression. When first taking depression medication, some young people experience increased suicidal feelings. If you notice any sudden changes in your mood, behaviour, or thoughts of suicide, tell your doctor immediately. Consult your doctor before stopping Irenka.

Before you take this drug

If you have an allergy to Irenka, then it is best not to use the product. Irenka should not be taken within five days of using an MAO inhibitor, such as linezolid or isocarboxazid. It is possible that a dangerous drug interaction will occur.

Inform your doctor if any of these medications are also being taken: stimulant medicines, opioids, herbal supplements, or medication for mental illness, Parkinson’s disease, or migraine headaches. A serious condition known as serotonin syndrome could be caused by an interaction with Irenka.

No one under the age of 7 is allowed to use this product.

Inform your physician of any of the following issues:

  • Heart problems High blood pressure
  • Liver or kidney disease
  • Slow digestion;
  • A seizure;
  • Bleeding problems
  • Sexual problems
  • Narrow-angle glaucoma;
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Drug addiction or thoughts of suicide
  • If you consume large quantities of alcohol,

Suicidal thoughts can occur in people with mental illness or depression. When first taking depression medication, some young people experience increased suicidal feelings. Be aware of any changes in your mood or symptoms. Families or carers can also be alert to sudden changes in behavior.

Irenka can harm your baby during pregnancy, but it may also be harmful to you. Ask your doctor before starting or stopping Irenka. You may find your name on a registry if you are pregnant to track duloxetine's effects on the child. Tell your doctor if the baby is drowsy, has feeding problems, or shows slow weight gain.

How to take Irenka?

Read and follow all instructions or guides provided with your medication.Sometimes, your doctor will change the dose. You must take the medication exactly as prescribed. Irenka will not be more effective if you take it in higher doses or more frequently than recommended. It may also increase the side effects. Do not open, crush, chew or break the capsule. Take it with or without food. Your blood pressure must be checked frequently.

If you notice any changes in your sexual function (such as a loss of interest in sex or difficulty having an orgasm), or if men experience problems with erections, or ejaculation, tell your doctor. Certain sexual problems are treatable. You may experience symptoms for up to four weeks.

If you stop Irenka abruptly, you may experience unpleasant symptoms (such as agitation, confusion or tingling sensations). Before stopping Irenka, consult your doctor. Store away from heat and moisture at room temperature.

What happens if I miss the dose?

If you are almost due for your next dose, skip the missed one. Never take two doses of the same medicine at once.

What happens if I overdose?

Call 1-800-222-1222 for poison help or seek immediate medical attention.

Overdose symptoms may include vomiting, dizziness or drowsiness, seizures, fast heartbeats, fainting, or coma.

What should be avoided?

Before taking nsaids such as Advil, ibuprofen, or naproxen (or other nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs), consult your doctor. Taking an NSAID along with Irenka can cause you to bleed or bruise easily.

Irenka can cause you to feel dizzy or drowsy. Avoid driving and other hazardous activities until you are sure how they will affect you. Dizziness and drowsiness may cause accidents or serious injuries. You may get dizzy if you stand up quickly from a seated or lying position. Drinking alcohol can increase your risk for liver damage, particularly if you are taking Drizalma.

Interaction with other drug

It is sometimes not safe to take certain medications together. Some drugs may affect the blood levels of drugs that you are taking, causing side effects or making them less effective.

Irenka can be affected by many drugs. These include prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. This list does not include all possible interactions. Inform your doctor of all the medications you are taking.
