What is HumuLIN N KwikPen?

Insulin works by lowering the levels of sugar in the blood. KwikPen HumuLIN is an intermediate-acting insulin. It starts working within 2 to 4 hours after injection and peaks between 4 and 12 hours.HumuLIN The N KwikPen helps adults and children who have diabetes mellitus better control their blood sugar levels.HumuLIN N. KwikPen can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side effects of HumuLIN N KwikPen

If you experience any of the following symptoms, you should seek emergency medical attention: swelling or redness where an insulin injection was administered; an itchy or swollen skin rash on your entire body; difficulty breathing; chest pain; feeling as if you may pass out; or swelling in either your tongue or throat.

HumuLIN N KwikPen can cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • Fluid retention: weight gain, swelling of the hands or feet, or feeling short-breathing;
  • Low sodium, leg cramps, constipation, increased thirst and urination, numbness, tingling or numbness, muscle weakness, or a limp feeling

Some of the common side effects associated with HumuLIN N KwikPen include:

  • Low blood sugar
  • Weight gain and swelling in hands or feet
  • Mild rash;
  • The skin may become thicker or hollowed out where the medication was injected.

Warnings

If you have a low blood sugar episode, do not use HumuLIN N KwikPen.Do not share an injection pen, syringe, or syringe, even if it has a new needle.

Before you take this drug

How to take HumuLIN N KwikPen?

Read all instructions or guides that come with your medication and follow all directions. Follow the directions on the label.HumuLIN N kwikPen can be injected into the skin. You can learn how to use the medication properly by yourself from a healthcare provider.The HumuLIN N kwikPen should not be used with an insulin pump or mixed with any other insulin. Never inject into a vein, muscle, or blood vessel.HumuLIN N KwikPen should not be injected into skin that has been damaged, is tender, bruised, or pitted. It can also cause a hard lump or scar.Please read and follow all instructions for use that come with your medication. If you do not understand the instructions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.Humulin N should appear cloudy when mixed. If the mixture is clear or contains particles, do not use it. For new medicines, call your pharmacist.Your healthcare provider will tell you exactly where to inject HumuLINN KwikPen. Each time you inject, use a new place. Don't inject in the same spot twice.

Use only the HumuLIN N KwikPen injection pen. Attach a fresh needle to the pen before each use. Transferring insulin from a pen to a syringe is not recommended.Do not share an injection pen, syringe, or other device with anyone else. This is true even if you have changed the needle. It can spread infections and diseases from person to person.If you have hypoglycemia, you may feel extremely hungry, irritable, confused, and anxious. If you want to treat hypoglycemia quickly, consume or drink something that will provide sugar fast (fruit juices, hard candies, crackers, or raisins).In the event of severe hypoglycemia, your doctor may prescribe a glucagon injectable kit. Make sure that your family and friends are familiar with how to administer this injection in case of an emergency.Watch for signs such as increased thirst and urination.Stress, illness, surgery, or alcohol consumption can affect blood sugar levels. Consult your doctor before changing the dose or schedule of your medication.

HumuLIN N KwikPen may be part of a comprehensive treatment program, which could also include diet and exercise, weight management, blood glucose testing, or special medical care. Please follow your doctor's advice.This medicine should be kept in the original container, away from heat and sunlight. You should not transfer insulin from the vial to a syringe before you are ready for an injection. Store insulin away from the cooling element of a fridge. Do not use any frozen insulin.

Store HumuLIN N KwikPen that are not in use (not opened):

  • Use within the expiration date.
  • Keep your medication at room temperature, and use it within the specified number of days in the instructions for use that came with the medicine.

Storing opened (in use) HumuLIN N KwikPen:

  • Keep your medication in the refrigerator or at room temperature as instructed in the instructions for use that came with it. Injectors that are still in use should not be refrigerated.
  • HumuLIN N KwikPen in use is only stable for a limited number of days. Toss away any medication not used in that period. Keep your medicines in accordance with the instructions provided.

Only use a needle or syringe once, and then store them in a "sharps container" that is puncture-proof. Be sure to follow local or state laws on how to properly dispose of the container. Keep the container out of reach of pets and children.Wear or carry medical identification in case of an emergency to alert others that you have diabetes.

What happens if I miss the dose?

If you are almost due for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Never take two doses of the same medicine at once.Refill your prescription before you run out.

What happens if I overdose?

Call the Poison Help Line at 1-800-222-1222 or seek emergency medical attention. An insulin overdose can lead to life-threatening hypoglycemia. The symptoms include drowsiness and confusion.

What should be avoided?

Insulin can cause low sugar levels. Do not drive or operate machinery until you have determined how HumuLIN N KwikPen may affect you.Check the label of your medicine before you inject insulin to avoid medication mistakes. Some brands are interchangeable with others, such as insulin isophane or syringes.Avoid alcohol. Alcohol can cause low sugar levels and interfere with diabetes treatment.

Interaction with other drug

HumuLIN N. KwikPen might not work well if you are taking other medications at the same time. It includes over-the-counter and prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. You may also experience fewer hypoglycemia symptoms when taking certain drugs, making it more difficult to detect low blood sugar. This list does not include all possible interactions. Inform your doctor of all medications you begin or stop taking.
