What is Glucotrol XL?

Glucotrol XL can be used in conjunction with diet and physical activity to help control blood sugar levels in adults who have type 2 diabetes mellitus. This medication is not intended to treat type 1 diabetes.Glucotrol XL can be used in other ways not mentioned in the medication guide.

Side effects of Glucotrol XL

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergy: difficulty breathing, hives, swelling in your lips, face, throat, or tongue

Symptoms that call for immediate medical intervention.

  • Headache, irritability
  • Sweating, fast heart rate
  • Dizziness, nausea,
  • Hunger, anxiety, or feeling shaky

Glucotrol xl side effects that are common include:

Warnings

If you are suffering from diabetic ketoneacidosis, do not take Glucotrol XL. Consult your doctor.

Before you take this drug

If you have diabetes ketoacidosis, you should consult your doctor to get treatment.

If you've ever:

  • Liver or kidney disease
  • Chronic diarrhoea or an obstruction in the intestines.
  • An enzyme deficiency called glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency (G6PD).

You should follow your doctor's advice about this medication when you are or become pregnant. It is important to control diabetes during pregnancy. High blood sugar can cause problems for both mother and baby. You may have to temporarily stop using Glucotrol XL just prior to your due date.Breastfeeding may be unsafe while taking this medication. You should consult your physician about the risks.

How to take Glucotrol XL?

Be sure to follow all instructions or guides included with your medication, such as any guides on dosage or administration.Sometimes, your doctor will change the dose. Take your medication exactly as instructed.Take one Glucotrol XL tablet every 30 minutes prior to your first meal.Take Glucotrol XL Extended-Release Tablets with the first meal of your day.Do not chew or crush the tablet.You may also need blood tests in your doctor's clinic.If you have hypoglycemia, then you may feel very hungry or dizzy. You might also be confused, anxious, or anxious. If you want to treat hyperglycemia quickly, consume or drink sugary foods or drinks (such as fruit juice, candy, crackers, or raisins).In the event of severe hypoglycemia, your doctor might prescribe a glucagon injectable kit. What should be avoided?

Alcohol is a depressant and can cause side effects. Alcohol can lower blood sugar levels and cause adverse effects.Do not drive or operate machinery until you have determined how Glucotrol XL affects you.

Interaction with other drug

It is sometimes not safe to take certain drugs at the same time. Some medications can cause side effects that increase or decrease the effectiveness of another drug you are taking.Numerous drugs may affect Glucotrol XL. These include prescription, over-the-counter, herbal, vitamin, and prescription drugs.
