What is FreshKote Preservative Free?

This leaflet does not list all the brands or forms of ocular lubricant. FreshKote, preservative-free, can be used by adults to relieve irritation, burning, and discomfort due to dry eyes. This medication guide does not list all of the uses for FreshKote preservative-free.

Side effects of FreshKote Preservative Free

If you experience any of the following signs of an allergic reaction: difficulty breathing, hives, facial, lip, or throat swelling and difficulty swallowing. Seek medical assistance immediately.

If any of the following symptoms arise, discontinue FreshKote Preservative-Free immediately and contact a medical provider:

  • As soon as you take the medication, it may cause severe eye irritation, burning or stinging sensations.
  • Eye pain
  • Vision changes

Some of the side effects that FreshKote Preservative-Free may cause include:

  • Mild eye irritation or burning;
  • Itching or redness in your eyes
  • Watery eyes
  • Blurred vision
  • Light sensitivity

Do not use FreshKote preservative-free to treat or prevent eye infections.

Before you take this drug

FreshKote Preservative-Free should not be used if you have an allergy to it. The medicine does not treat an eye infection or prevent it. If you suspect that you may have an infection, ask your doctor or pharmacist whether it's safe to use FreshKote Preservative-Free. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or nursing.

How to take FreshKote Preservative Free?

Read all instructions or guides that come with your medication and follow all directions. Follow the directions on the label. FreshKote Free Preservative is best used with clean hands. FreshKote Preservative-Free is not recommended. Call your pharmacist immediately if you notice that the medicine has become cloudy or changed color. Avoid touching or placing directly onto your eye the tip of an eye dropper or ointment tube as this could potentially contaminate it and lead to vision problems. If your symptoms don't improve or worsen while taking FreshKote Preservative-Free, see your physician immediately. Store at room temperature away from heat and moisture, for optimal performance.

What happens if I miss the dose?

FreshKote preservative-free is used as needed. You can skip any missed dose if you have a regular dosing schedule. Never use two doses in one go.

What happens if I overdose?

Ocular moisturizer overdoses are generally safe. Should someone accidentally swallow it, call 1-800-222-1222 or the Poison Help Line immediately for medical attention.

What should be avoided?

FreshKote Preservative-Free may cause blurred or double vision. Do not drive or do any hazardous activities until you have determined how the medicine will affect you. You should only use eye drops prescribed by your doctor.

Interaction with other drug

Other drugs that you take are unlikely to affect the medicine used on your eyes. Many drugs interact. Tell your doctor all the medications you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs and herbal supplements.
