What is FluLaval PF quadrivalent 2021-2022?

Influenza (the flu) is a contagious illness caused by a viral infection that can be spread through air or surfaces. The flu symptoms include fevers, chills and fatigue, aches and pains, sore neck, coughing, nausea and diarrhea. Flu can cause serious complications like pneumonia. Influenza is responsible for thousands of deaths and hospitalizations each year. Children, pregnant women and older adults are at greatest risk, as well as people with weak immune system or other health conditions such heart diseases or cancer. FluLaval Quadrivalent 2021-2022 can be used by adults and children aged at least six months to prevent influenza virus infection. This vaccine will help your body build immunity against the virus, but it won't treat an infection that you have already.

FluLaval PF quadrivalent 2021-2022, a new formulation is developed each year. It contains strains of the inactivated flu virus (killed), which are recommended for that particular year by health officials. FluLaval PF quadrivalent injectable 2021-2022 is made of "killed virus." This medicine is available as a nasal spray, which is "live virus" vaccination. The information in this medication guide is only for the injectable version of this vaccine. FluLaval Quadrivalent 2021-2022, like any other vaccine, may not protect everyone from illness.

Side effects of FluLaval PF Quadrivalent 2021-2022

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction, seek immediate medical attention: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of your lips, face, tongue or throat. If you experienced a severe allergic reaction after receiving your first dose, do not receive another booster shot. Keep track of all side effects. You will need to inform the vaccine provider of any side effects you experienced after receiving the FluLaval Quadrivalent 2021-2022. FluLaval Quadrivalent 2021-2022 contains "killed" viruses and won't make you sick with flu virus. During flu season, you may experience flu-like symptoms that could be caused by another strain of influenza virus.

FluLaval PF Quadrivalent 2021-2022 may cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • Feeling light-headedness as though you may pass out is not uncommon.
  • You may experience a sudden and severe feeling of weakness in your arms or legs.
  • Feelings of tingling or burning, or numbness;
  • Hearing or vision problems
  • A fever above 101 degrees F

FluLaval Quadrivalent 2021-2022 side effects may include:

  • Pain, redness or tenderness; swelling, bruising or a lump at the site of the injection.
  • Diarrhoea, loss of appetite
  • Muscle pain;
  • Headache, tiredness;
  • In a child, fussiness, crying or drowsiness are common.

Warnings

FluLaval Quadrivalent is made of "killed virus" and won't make you sick with flu.

Before you take this drug

This vaccine may not be available to you if your allergy to eggs or previous severe reactions to flu vaccines.

If you:

  • A weak immune system, caused by a disease or certain medicines.
  • A history of Guillain Barre syndrome within 6 weeks of receiving the flu vaccine.

If you are suffering from a minor cold, it is possible to receive a vaccination. Wait until you are better if you have a severe illness, such as a fever or infection. Inform your vaccine provider if pregnant or nursing. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that women who are pregnant get a flu vaccine during any trimester to protect their babies and themselves from the flu. It is not recommended that pregnant women use the nasal spray version of influenza vaccine.

How to take FluLaval PF quadrivalent 2021-2022?

This vaccine is not recommended for children. Your child's vaccine provider can recommend which FluLaval Quadrivalent 2021-2022 is best for your child. This vaccine is administered as an injection into a muscle. A second vaccine may be needed for children aged 6 months to 8 after the first one. FluLaval Quadrivalent 2021-2022, also known as FluLaval PF Quadrivalent, is typically administered in November or October. You can follow the instructions of your doctor or those recommended by your local department of health. FluLaval Quadrivalent 2021-2022, which is developed each year to target specific strains of flu, should be administered every year.

What happens if I miss the dose?

If you have forgotten to get your annual flu shot in November or October, or if you or your child has missed a booster shot, call your doctor.

What happens if I overdose?

It is very unlikely that this vaccine will cause an overdose.

What should be avoided?

If your vaccine provider has given you any instructions regarding restrictions in food, beverage, or activity, follow them.

Interaction with other drug

You may be unable to get the vaccine if you are taking any of these drugs, or you may have to wait until your other treatments are complete.

  • Steroid medicine;
  • Treatment of autoimmune diseases or psoriasis.
  • Medicines to treat or prevent transplant
