You shouldn't make use of the inhalation product in case you have an allergy to the milk protein.
Before you take this drug
It is not recommended to utilize the Flovent Diskus when you are sensitive to fluticasone. Don't use an inhalation product (ArmonAir RespiClick, Arnuity Ellipta, or Flovent Diskus) in case you are intolerant to proteins from milk. Avoid using Flovent Diskus for treating asthma attacks that have already started.
Speak to your doctor if you ever had:

Long-term use of steroids could result in bone loss (osteoporosis) particularly in the event that you smoke, don't exercise, don't receive enough calcium or vitamin D from your food, or have a history of osteoporosis in your family. Consult your physician regarding your risk. Consult your physician if you are expecting. It's not clear if fluticasone can cause harm to a newborn baby. If asthma is untreated or not controlled during pregnancy, it can lead to complications such as preterm birth and eclampsia (dangerously high blood pressure), which can cause health issues for both the pregnant mother and the baby. The advantages of treating asthma can outweigh the risks for the infant. It is not recommended to breastfeed while taking this medication. Talk to your doctor regarding any risks. Avoid giving this medication to an infant without consulting a doctor.
How to take Flovent Diskus?
Follow all instructions listed on your prescription label, read any related medication guides or instructions and take your medicine exactly as prescribed; never take more often than is prescribed. Fluvent Diskus cannot be used as a medication to treat asthma-related attacks. Use only fast-acting inhalation medication for an attack. Consult a doctor if breathing issues get worse rapidly or if you suspect the asthma medications you are taking aren't functioning equally. The liquid form of Flovent is fluticasone, which is used in devices for inhalation. This device makes the spray, which you inhale through your mouth before introducing it into your lungs. Flovent Diskus ArmonAir, along with Arnuity Ellipta, are powder versions of fluticasone. They come with an inhaler that comes with blister packs containing precise dosages of fluticasone. The device opens and fills the blister with fluticasone every time you take a puff with the inhaler. Be sure to read and follow all instructions that come with your medication. If any clarification is necessary, speak with either your physician or pharmacist for clarification.
Do not let a small child take this medication without assistance from an adult. To avoid a yeast infection, clean the mouth thoroughly with clean water (do not swallow) after taking this medicine. Take care of your oral hygiene. Fluticasone can lead to cavities and tooth discoloration. Your dosage requirements may change depending on whether you are undergoing surgery, have a medical condition, are under stress, or have had one of your asthma attacks. Don't alter your dose of medication or stop taking fluticasone without your doctor's guidance. It is not advisable to stop taking Flovent Diskus abruptly, or your asthma may get worse. If you decide to stop using any medication containing steroids, you may have to gradually stop. Follow the instructions of your doctor. In the event of an emergency, dress in a medical gown or carry identification to alert others that you might require an oral steroid during an urgent situation.
Your doctor should monitor your performance regularly. Your vision might also have to be examined at regular intervals. Consult your physician if your symptoms don't improve after two weeks of treatment or if they worsen. If you have an oximeter in your home, contact your doctor when your readings are lower than usual. Keep at room temperature, free of light, moisture, extreme heat, or cold. Keep ArmonAir in the foil pouch, and make use of the medicine as soon as possible after opening. Remove the pouch from an area that pets and children are not able to reach. Keep it in a dry location. The powders can be stored in a foil pouch that is not opened or in a tray until you are ready to use them. Discard any medicine that is not used after the inhalation counter on your device for inhalation shows "0." Refill your prescription prior to the time that you're out of medication completely. The Flovent canister is in the mouthpiece facing down. The canister should be kept away from flames or high temperatures, for example, in an automobile in the heat of the day. The canister could explode if it becomes too hot. Don't puncture or burn an empty inhaler bottle.
What happens if I miss the dose?
Do not miss the missed dose, and take the next dose at the normal time. Do not take two doses at the same time. If you take Arnuity Ellipta, do not exceed one inhalation a day.
What happens if I overdose?
For medical emergencies, seek immediate medical assistance or contact the Poison Help Line's toll-free number at 1-800-222-1222. A high dose of fluticasone is not likely to cause serious symptoms. In the long run, an inhaled steroid could cause cataracts, glaucoma, and thinning skin, as well as changes in the body's fat (especially on the neck, face back, waist, and face), an increase in facial hair or acne, menstrual issues, impotence, or a decrease in attraction to sexual activities.
What should be avoided?
Beware of those who are infected or suffer from infections. Consult your physician for treatment to prevent infection when you've been affected by chickenpox and measles. These diseases can be severe and even fatal for people who are taking steroid medications.
Interaction with other drug
At times it may not be wise to combine certain medications. Some medicines may alter the blood levels of others that you take, potentially increasing side effects or diminishing effectiveness. When in doubt always inform your healthcare provider of all medicines taken simultaneously such as:
- As an antibiotic;
- Antifungal medicine;
- Antiviral medication to treat hiv and aids;
- Steroid medicine.
This list is not comprehensive. Other medications can affect fluticasone as well, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines such as vitamins and medications, as well as natural products. There are many potential interactions between drugs that are included here.
