What is Celluvisc?

This leaflet does not list all the brands or forms of ocular lubricant. Celluvisc can be used by adults to reduce irritation, burning, and discomfort due to dry eyes. This medication guide does not list all possible uses of Celluvisc.

Side effects of Celluvisc

If you experience any of the following signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction: difficulty breathing, hives or swelling to lips, face, tongue or throat - seek medical assistance immediately!

If you experience:

  • After using the medication, you may experience severe eye irritation, burning, stinging, or irritation.
  • Eye pai
  • Vision changes

Celluvisc can cause a number of side effects.

  • Mild eye irritation or burning;
  • Itching or redness in your eyes
  • Watery eyes
  • Blurred vision
  • Light sensitivity

Warnings

Celluvisc should not be used to treat or prevent eye infections.

Before you take this drug

Celluvisc should not be used if you have an allergy to it. This medication will not prevent or treat an eye infection. If you suspect that you may have an infection, ask your doctor or pharmacist whether Celluvisc is safe to use. Inform your doctor immediately if you become pregnant or nursing.

How to take Celluvisc?

Study any instructions or guides included with your medication and follow all directions carefully. Follow the directions on the label. Celluvisc should be used only after washing your hands. Celluvisc should not be used. Call your pharmacist immediately if it appears cloudy or if its colour has changed. Avoid touching or placing directly onto your eye with the tip. The tip of the eye dropper or ointment tube can cause serious vision problems if it is contaminated. If your symptoms don't improve or worsen while taking Celluvisc, call your doctor. Store at room temperature away from heat and moisture to extend shelf life.

What happens if I miss the dose?

Celluvisc can be used as needed. You should not take any missed doses if you have a regular dosing regimen. Never use two doses in one go.

What happens if I overdose?

Overdoses of ocular moisturiser are not dangerous. If anyone accidentally swallows the medication, call 1-800-222-1222 or the Poison Help Line for immediate medical attention.

What should be avoided?

Cellulitis can cause blurred vision. Do not drive or do any hazardous activities until you have determined how the medicine will affect you. You should only use eye drops prescribed by your doctor.

Interaction with other drug

Other drugs that you take are unlikely to affect the medicine used on your eyes. Many drugs interact. Tell your doctor all the medications you are taking, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
