What is Seb-prev?

Sulfacetamide sodium is an antibiotic that fights the presence of bacteria on the skin.

Seb-prev (for the skin) is used to treat acne, dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis (red, flaking skin rash), and other skin infections.seb-prev could be used for other purposes that are not mentioned in this medication guide.

Side effects of Seb-prev

Contact a medical professional immediately. If you experience any of the following symptoms, they are warning signs of an allergic reaction: symptoms of hives: difficulty breathing and swelling of your lips, face, or tongue.

Seb-prev could cause severe adverse effects. Stop using seb prev and notify your physician immediately in case you experience:

  • The very first indication of an itchy rash, no matter how slight;
  • Pale skin, no bleeding or bruising;
  • New or deteriorating skin ailment;
  • Liver problems: nausea and stomach pains in the upper part of the stomach, itching, tiredness, lack of appetite dark urine, stools that are clay-colored, and jaundice (yellowing of the eyes or skin);
  • Lupus-like syndrome: joint pain or swelling accompanied by fever and swollen glands chest pain, muscle aches, vomiting, strange thoughts or behaviors, and skin patches or
  • Severe skin reaction: fever, sore throat, swelling on your tongue or face, burning eyes, pain in your skin, and the appearance of a purple or red skin eruption that can spread (especially on the face or the upper part of your body) and lead to blistering and peeling.

Common seb-prev's side effects can include:

  • Slight swelling, itching, or redness of the skin;
  • Dry skin
  • The skin's color is yellow after treatment (which may be a sign you've used too much medication).

Prior to use this drug

Seb-prev is not recommended if you have an allergy to sulfacetamide sodium or other medications.

To ensure that this medication is appropriate for you, consult your doctor if:

  • A sulfite allergy.

It isn't known if this medication could cause harm to a baby who is not yet born. Consult your physician if you are expecting or plan to be pregnant.

How to take Seb-prev?

Follow the directions on the label of your prescription. Do not take this medicine in greater or lesser amounts or for longer than the recommended time.it is possible that you need to shake the medication prior to every use. Follow the instructions on your prescription label.be sure that the area of treatment is dry and clean prior to applying seb-prev gel, cream, or lotion. Apply the medication in a thin layer and rub it gently on the area.

To apply sulfacetamide sodium soap, wash the skin thoroughly and apply enough of the product to form a lather. Massage the lather onto the skin with gentle pressure, and wash thoroughly with plain water. Dry the skin with an untidy towel.

Apply the foam to dry hair while applying the treatment to your scalp. Massage gently on the scalp until all the foam is gone. Let the foam fully dry over the affected area.don't apply seb-prev to large areas of skin.wash your hands following the application of the medicine.if you're using this treatment for your scalp, wash your hair using a shampoo that is not medicated at least every week during treatment.

Seb-prev is typically applied two times a day for between 8 and 10 consecutive days. Spread your doses equally by applying the medication at the same times every day.

It's possible to continue taking the medication once or twice a week, or every two weeks. Follow your doctor's prescriptions. What happens if i miss the dose?

Do the missed dose when you remember. Don't miss any missed doses if you are nearing the time for the next dose. Do not take any additional medicine to make up for the missed dose.

What happens if i overdose?

What should be avoided?

Seb-prev should not be used to treat any skin inflammation that hasn't been evaluated by a doctor.beware of getting this medication in your nose, eyes, or mouth. If this happens, wash your mouth with water. Avoid using the product on windburned, sunburned, chapped, dry, irritated, or broken skin. Do not get seb-prev soap on your eyes or lips while washing it.do not get this medication on your clothes. Seb-prev can cause a slight yellow hue on fabrics with light colors.

Avoid exposure to the sun and tanning beds. Seb-prev can cause skin to burn more quickly. Be sure to wear protective attire and apply sunblock (spf 30 or more) whenever you're outside.do not use other medicines for the areas you treat with seb prev unless your physician has advised you to.

Interaction with other drugs

Discuss with your physician the other medications you are taking, including silver sulfadiazine (silvadene, thermazene, and many others).
