What is Pheburane?
Pheburane is a medication used by both children and adults to treat urinary cycle disorders. Pheburane is a combination drug that can be used in conjunction with other medications and can also require changes in the diet. Pheburane can also be used for reasons not mentioned in this guide to medication.
Side effects of Pheburane
See a doctor immediately. If you are experiencing symptoms that indicate an allergic reaction, such as difficulty breathing, hives, or swelling of your lips, face, or tongue,
Pheburane can cause severe adverse effects. Consult your physician right away if you experience:
- Nervous system problems: sleepiness, tiredness, feeling light-headed, vomiting, nausea, headache, confusion;
- Leg cramps due to low blood potassium, constipation, irregular heartbeats, fluttering around your chest, more frequent urination or thirst sensations of tingling or numbness, muscles becoming weak or sluggish;
- Heart conditions: swelling and weight gain, rapid and feeling Tired or
- Indications of symptoms or signs of infection symptoms of infection include fever, chills, a sore throat or body aches, abnormal tiredness, and loss of appetite. Bleeding or bruising.
Common adverse effects of pheburane can include:
- Absence of a menstrual period or change in your menstrual cycle;
- Lack of appetite
- Change in body odor or
- Unusual or unpleasant taste within your mouth.

Before you start taking this medicine
Pheburane is not a suitable drug for treating the immediate symptoms of ammonia buildup.
Inform your doctor if you are suffering from:
- Heart issues;
- High blood pressure;
- Glucose or an underlying condition such as being intolerant to fructose, glucose-galactose malabsorption, or sucrase-isomaltase deficiencies (Pheburane oral pellets contain sucrose) as well as
- Kidney or liver disease
Consult your physician if you are nursing or pregnant.
How to take Pheburane?
Follow the directions on your prescription label, and go through all medication guides or instructions sheets. Your doctor may alter your dosage. Make sure you take the medication precisely as directed. It is possible that you will need to follow a specific diet. Follow the advice of your physician or dietitian. Know about the food items you should avoid or eat. Wear a medical alert tag or carry a photo ID to inform others that you suffer from a urinary cycling disorder. Doses are determined by weight. Your dose may change if you gain or lose weight. Take pheburane in conjunction with food. Make sure to shake the oral powder lightly prior to mixing it with food.
Determine the dosage from sodium phenylbutyrate oral pellets using the measuring device supplied (not an ordinary spoon). Take a sip of Pheburane oral pellets as soon as you can in soft foods like applesauce, fruit juices, water, or formulas for infants with no protein. Avoid mixing or chewing with liquids. Do not take or give Pheburane oral suspension or oral pellets via the nasogastric or gastrostomy tube.
Your blood might require frequent testing. Keep at room temperature and free of heat and moisture. The bottle should be kept tightly shut when not being used. Get rid of the left-over oral pellets 45 days after opening the bottle.
What happens if I miss a dose?
Oral pellet: Take the medication as quickly as you are able, but do not miss your missed dosage if the coming dose falls within three or less hours. Don't take two doses in one go.
Tablets, oral suspension, or powder: Consume the medication whenever you are able to take it, but do not miss any missed dosage if you are close to the time for the next dose. Don't have two dosages at a time

What should be avoided?
Follow the instructions of your physician regarding any limitations on foods, drinks, or any activity.
Interaction with other drugs
Discuss with your doctor any other medications you take, including:
- Steroids;
- Haloperidol;
- Valproic acid; or
- Probenecid.
