What is Belladonna Tincture?

Belladonna tincture is one of the plants that is also referred to by the following names: Atropa belladonna tincture, Atropa acuminata, Baccifere, Belle-Dame, Belle-Galante, Bouton Noir, Cerise du Diable, Deadly Nightshade, Devil's Cherries, Devil's Herb, Divale, Dwale, Dwayberry, Grande Morelle, Guigne de la Cote, Herbe a la Mort, Herbe du Diable, Morelle Furieuse, Naughty Man's Cherries, Poison Black Cherries, Suchi, and other names. Belladonna tincture has been used in alternative medicine to treat joint pains, colds, and asthmatic bronchospasms triggered by asthma, whooping cough nerve issues, hemorrhoids, colic, Parkinson's disease, IBS, and motion sickness.

It isn't known for certain if Belladonna tincture is effective in treating any medical issue, and Belladonna tincture can be harmful. Medicinal use of this product is not accepted by the FDA. Belladonna tincture should not be utilized in lieu of medications recommended by your physician. Belladonna tincture is often sold as a supplement for herbal use.   • Serious ulcerative colitis or toxic megacolon.

  • Myasthenia gravis.
  • Heart issues, particularly those caused by thyroid issues.
  • Active bleeding that is accompanied by rapid beats of the heart, lower blood pressure, shortness of breath, and cold feet or hands.

Don't give Belladonna tincture to a child without consulting a doctor. Belladonna tincture can cause serious side effects for infants and young children, such as breathing issues, constipation, anxiety, and seizures. It is not recommended to apply this product if you are nursing or pregnant. Belladonna tincture can decrease sweating and increase your risk of becoming susceptible to heat stroke.
