What is Synvisc-one?

The fluid surrounding your joints is synvisc one. The fluid is a shock-absorber and lubricant for joints. Synvisc one is prescribed to relieve knee pain due to osteoarthritis. How to take Synvisc-one?

Synvisc one is an injection that can be injected into the knee. Your healthcare professional will administer this injection.

Your doctor might recommend that you rest your knee after the injection or apply ice to it for a few minutes.

Information on dosage

Adult usual dose: one intra articular injection is given. It is important to use strict aseptic techniques.

  • Only inject 6 ml into one knee.
  • Remove synovial effusion or fluid with a needle of 18–20 gauge before injecting synvisc-one.
  • Use a different syringe to inject synvisc-one and remove synovial liquid.
  • To minimize leakage, twist the cap off before removing it.
  • Secure the needle firmly while holding the hub of the lever. This will ensure that the seal is tight and no leakage occurs during the administration.

What happens if i miss the dose?

If you missed your synvisc one injection appointment, call your doctor to get instructions.

What happens if i overdose?

What should be avoided?
