What is Stiolto respirmat?

Stiolto respima contains a combination of olodaterol and tiotropium. Olodaterol acts as a bronchodilator. Tiotropium, an anticholinergic, is used. These medications improve breathing by relaxing the muscles of the airways.

Stiolto respimat can be used to reduce flare-ups and prevent airflow obstruction in adults with chronic obstructive lung disease, including bronchitis or emphysema. Stiolto respirat will not treat an attack of bronchospasm that has already started. Stiolto respimat should only be used by people with copd. It is not for asthma.

Warnings

Stiolto respimat should only be used by people with copd and not for treating asthma. Stiolto respimat can increase the risk of death and hospitalization for people with copd, but it is unknown if the drug will do the same thing for asthmatics.

Stiolto respirat will not treat an attack of bronchospasm that has already started. If you notice new copd symptoms or if they worsen, call your doctor immediately.

Before you take this drug

Stiolto respimat should not be used if you have an allergy to olodaterol or tiotropium.

Tell your doctor about any of the following to ensure that stiolto respirmat is safe for use.

  • Heart disease high blood pressure
  • Seizures;
  • A thyroid disorder
  • Diabetes;
  • Glaucoma;
  • Kidney disease
  • Urination or prostate problems

This medicine is not known to harm an unborn child. Notify your doctor immediately if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.

Breastfeeding may not be possible while taking this medication. You should consult your doctor if you are concerned about any risks. Stiolto respimat should not be used by anyone under the age of 18.

How to take Stiolto respimat?

Stiolto respimat should be used exactly as directed by your doctor. Read all the instructions on the prescription label. Stiolto is not an emergency medicine to treat bronchospasm. Only use inhalation medicines that act quickly during an attack. If your breathing problems worsen quickly or you feel that your medication is not working, seek medical attention.

You may not receive the correct dosage if you do not use the inhaler that comes with your medication. Each time your prescription is refilled, use a new inhaler. You should not stop taking your medication or change the dose without consulting your doctor.

Please carefully read and follow any instructions that come with your medication. If you need clarification, consult your physician or pharmacist. Do not take the medication more than once every 24 hours. Store the medicine at room temperature. Store it at room temperature.

Details on dosage

Adult dose for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease—maintenance:

Oral inhalation of 2 ml twice a day at the same time
maximum dose: two inhalations per 24 hours
use: treatment of airflow obstruction for patients with copd, including chronic lung disease or emphysema

What happens if i miss the dose?

If you are almost due for your next dose, skip the missed dosage. Never take two doses in one go. Use no more than one dose in a 24-hour period.

What happens if i overdose?

Call 1-800-222-1222 for poison help or seek immediate medical attention. Overdose symptoms include headaches and chest pain. A rapid heart rate may also be present.

What should be avoided?

Avoid using a second inhaled inhaler that contains arformoterol, salmeterol, vilanterol, or formoterol. Do not get the medication into your eyes. Avoid getting this medicine into your eyes. In the event that contact occurs, rinse with water.

Side effects of Stiolto respimat

Stiolto respimat can cause the following symptoms: itching, difficulty breathing, and swelling in your face, lips, or throat.

If you experience:

  • If you feel your heart pounding or your chest fluttering, then this is a sign that it's time to seek medical attention.
  • If you experience wheezing or choking after taking this medication, discontinue use immediately.
  • Urinating more frequently or with difficulty or pain
  • Blurred vision, tunnel vision, eye pain, or seeing halos around light
  • High blood sugar: increased thirst, increased urination, and hunger; a dry mouth; a fruity breath smell;
  • Low sodium level; cramps in the legs; constipation; increased thirst or urination; numbness, tingling, or muscle weakness.

Side effects of stiolto respimat include:

  • Runny nose;
  • Cough;
  • Backache.

Interaction with other drug

Tell your doctor about your other medications, including:

  • Atropine;
  • Medicine to treat depression or anxiety;
  • Cold or allergy medication (benadryl and others)
  • Medicine to treat parkinson’s disease
  • Medicine to treat stomach problems, motion sickness, or irritable bowel syndrome
  • Medicine to treat overactive urinary bladders
  • Other bronchodilators
