What are Sterile Lubricating Tears?

This leaflet does not list all the brands or forms of ocular lubricant. Adults can use Sterile Lubricating Tears to soothe the burning, irritation, and discomfort of dry eyes. Sterile-lubricating tears may be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side Effects of Sterile Lubricating Tears

If you experience any of the following signs of an allergic reaction: difficulty breathing, hives or swelling to lips, face, tongue or throat. Please seek medical assistance immediately.

If you experience any of the following symptoms, stop using Sterile Lubricating Tears immediately and contact your doctor.

  • After using the medication, you may experience severe eye irritation, burning, stinging, or tingling.
  • Eye pain
  • Vision changes

Some of the common side effects associated with sterile-lubricating tears include:

  • Mild eye irritation or burning;
  • Itching or redness in your eyes
  • Watery eyes
  • Blurred vision
  • Light sensitivity

Warnings

Do not use sterile lubricating tears to treat or prevent eye infections.

Before you take this drug

If you have an allergy to the product, do not use it. This medication will not prevent or treat an eye infection. If you suspect that you may have an infection, ask your doctor or pharmacist whether it's safe to use Sterile Lubricating Tears. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or nursing.

How to take Sterile Lubricating Tears?

Read all instructions or guides that come with your medication and follow all instructions on the label. Follow the directions on the label. Before using Sterile Lubricating Tears, wash your hands. Sterile-lubricating tears should not be used. Call your pharmacist immediately if you notice that the medicine has become cloudy or changed color.

Avoid touching the tip or placing it directly on your eye. The tip of the eye dropper or ointment tube can cause serious vision problems if it is contaminated. If your symptoms don't improve or worsen while using Sterile Lubricating Tears, call your doctor. Store away from heat and moisture at room temperature.

What happens if I miss the dose?

Sterile-lubricating tears are used as needed. You can skip missed doses if you follow a schedule. Never use two doses in one go.

What happens if I overdose?

Overdoses of ocular moisturizer are not dangerous.If anyone swallows medication by mistake, please call the Poison Helpline for medical assistance immediately at 1-800-222-1222 or the Poison Help Center on 1800222-1222 for immediate medical attention.

What should be avoided?

Blurred vision can occur after using sterile-lubricating tears.Take care to assess how any medication will impact you before engaging in any hazardous activities, such as driving. You should only use eye drops prescribed by your doctor.

Interaction with other drug

Other medications you take may have little impact on the treatment given for your eyes, though many drugs interact. Tell your physician all medications you are taking including prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
