What is Stanback?

Salicylates are also known as Stanback (sa-LISI-il-ate). It reduces substances that are responsible for pain, fever, and inflammation. This product contains caffeine to enhance the pain-relieving effects of both aspirin (aspirin) and caffeine.

Stanback is an all-in-one product that treats headaches, muscular pain, minor joint pain, and body aches or fevers caused by the cold. This medicine can be used to prevent or treat heart attacks, strokes, and chest pain. Only a doctor should prescribe this medicine for cardiovascular conditions. Stanback can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side effects of Stanback

If you experience any of the following signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction: hives, difficulty breathing or swelling of lips, face, tongue or throat. Seek medical assistance immediately.

Stanback can cause serious side effects. Stanback should be stopped immediately, and you should consult your doctor if:

  • Ringing in the ears, confusion (hallucinations), rapid breathing, and seizures
  • Severe nausea, vomiting, or stomach pain;
  • Bloody or tarry stool, vomiting blood, or vomit that looks like coffee grounds
  • Fever lasting more than 3 days
  • Swelling or pain that lasts more than 10 days.

Stanback can cause the following side effects:

  • Upset stomach, heartburn;
  • Drowsiness
  • Mild headache

Warnings

Aspirin can cause fatal stomach or intestinal bleeding. Aspirin may also cause an allergic reaction. If you experience hives, wheezing, or swelling of your lips, face, tongue, or throat, seek emergency medical attention. Stanback should not be used if you suffer from an active bleeding disorder, such as hemophilia.

This medication should not be given to children or teens with fever, flu symptoms, or chicken pox. Reye syndrome can be caused by aspirin. This is a serious condition that can even lead to death in children.

Before you take this drug

This medicine should not be used if:

  • Recent history of stomach or intestine bleeding
  • Active bleeding due to hemophilia or other blood-clotting disorders
  • An allergy to an NSAID, such as Advil (a nonsteroidal pain reliever), Motrin (a nonsteroidal analgesic drug), Aleve, Orudis, Indocin, Lodine, Voltaren, Toradol, Mobic, Relafen, Feldene, and others

This medication should not be given to children or teens with chicken pox, flu, or fever. Stanback may cause Reye syndrome in children, which can be fatal. The bleeding in the stomach or intestines can be fatal. Stanback can cause these conditions without warning.

  • If you are 60 years old or older,
  • If you have had stomach or intestinal bleeding in the past or if you are suffering from an ulcer,
  • If you take a blood-thinning medicine (warfarin or Coumadin) and/or steroid medication,
  • If you consume more than three alcoholic drinks per day,
  • If you are taking the medication for longer than is recommended,

If you have other medical conditions or concerns, speak to your physician or pharmacist about taking this medicine safely.

  • Any bleeding disorders or stomach problems
  • High blood pressure, heart disease
  • Asthma or seasonal allergies
  • Liver or kidney disease
  • Gout is a condition that causes inflammation of the joints.

Stanback may harm the heart of an unborn child, reduce birth weight, or cause other harmful effects. You should tell your doctor if you plan to become pregnant or if you are currently taking Stanback. Aspirin, caffeine, and other drugs can enter breast milk. This could harm nursing babies. Breastfeeding mothers should avoid taking this medicine.

How to take Stanback?

Do not exceed the recommended dosage or duration. Use the recommended dose and do not exceed it. Stanback may cause stomach upset if taken with food. Mix the powder or tablet with at least four ounces of warm water. Mix the powder and water together, then drink it immediately.

Tell the surgeon that you're using Stanback before you have surgery. Stanback may have to be stopped for a few days. If you notice a strong vinegar smell in the Stanback container, do not take it. The medication may not be as effective. Store away from heat and moisture at room temperature.

What happens if I miss the dose?

Stanback can be used as needed, and you do not need to follow a schedule. If you have a regular schedule, take the missed dose as quickly as you can.If your next scheduled dosage is soon, disregard any missed ones. You should not take extra medicine to compensate for a missed dose.

What happens if I overdose?

Call 1-800-222-1222 for poison help or seek immediate medical attention.

What should be avoided?

Avoid taking Advil or Motrin if you are taking Stanback for the prevention of stroke. Ibuprofen can make this medication less effective. Take ibuprofen for 8 hours or more before taking this medication (in non-enteric-coated form). Stanback can cause stomach bleeding if you drink alcohol. Alcohol increases your risk of stomach bleeding.

Before taking any pain reliever, diet pill, allergy, or cold medicine, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Aspirin and caffeine are found in many over-the-counter medicines. You can get too much aspirin or caffeine by taking certain products at the same time. You can check the label of a medication to see if it contains caffeine, aspirin, or ibuprofen.

Stanback should only be used if you are taking an antidepressant, such as citalopram (Prozac), escitalopram (Citalopram), paroxetine (Zoloft), sertraline (Zoloft), or vilazodone. Taking these medications with an NSAID can cause you to bleed or bruise easily.

Interaction with other drug

Aspirin and caffeine may interact with other drugs, such as prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal remedies. Inform your healthcare providers of all the medicines you are currently taking and those you plan to start using.
