What is Simply neosporin?

The combination medicine simply neosporin is used to prevent infection from cuts, scrapes, and/or skin burns. This medication guide does not list all possible uses of simply neosporin.

Side effects of Simply neosporin

If you experience any of the following signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction: difficulty breathing, hives, lips, face, tongue or throat swelling and difficulty swallowing; seek medical assistance immediately.

If:

  • You need to take this medication for more than one week.
  • Your condition continues or worsens.
  • A rash or another allergic reaction occurs.

Before you take this drug

If you have an allergy to simply neosporin, then it is best not to use the product. Simply put, neosporin should not be used in the eyes or on large parts of the body.

If you suffer from:

  • Deep or puncture wounds
  • Animal bites
  • Serious burns

Before taking this medication if you are pregnant or nursing, always consult with a healthcare provider first. Do not give this medication without first consulting a medical doctor.

How to take Simply neosporin?

Follow the instructions on the label or those prescribed by your doctor. After applying simply neosporin, wash your hands. Apply neosporin to the affected area between 1 and 3 times per day. This medicine should be used after cleaning the affected area. You can cover the area where you apply this medicine with a sterile dressing.

Simply put, neosporin should not be used for more than 1 week unless you are told by your doctor to do so. Store away from heat and moisture at room temperature.

What happens if i miss the dose?

If your next dose is near, skip the dose you missed. Never apply two doses at once.

What happens if i overdose?

If anyone accidentally swallows the medicine, seek emergency medical care or call poison help at 1-800-222-1222.

What should be avoided?

Do not use other medications to treat the same areas that you have treated with simply neosporin, unless you are told by your doctor.

Interaction with other drug

Tell your doctor about all medications, both prescribed and nonprescribed, vitamins, and herbal remedies you are currently taking, including any that are over-the-counter or available over-the-counter.
