Saw palmetto inhibits certain effects of specific hormones within the body.it also acts as a powerful anti-inflammatory agent.saw palmetto has been utilized in alternative medicine to be a beneficial aid in preventing the occurrence of complications resulting from prostate surgery (such as bleeding or issues after surgery) and also reducing the duration of surgery as well as hospitalization following surgery.
Saw palmetto has been utilized to treat the symptoms of prostate enlargement (benign prostatic hypertrophy, also known as bph), for example, more frequent nighttime urination and decreased urine flow. However, research has revealed that saw palmetto might not be efficient in treating this condition.
Other uses that have not been proven by research include treating cough, sore throat symptoms of cold asthma, bronchitis, male-pattern baldness, migraine, chronic pelvic pain and bladder issues, prostate swelling, prostate cancer, and various other conditions.it is not known if saw palmetto has any effect on treating medical conditions. Interaction with other drugs
Do not consume saw palmetto in the absence of medical advice if you're taking any of these medicines:
- Hormone replacement pills, also known as birth control
