What is Ru-Hist D?

The combination medicine Ru-Hist D treats symptoms of seasonal allergies and the common flu, such as sneezing or a runny nose. This medication guide does not list all possible uses of Ru-Hist D.

Side effects of Ru-Hist D

If you experience any of the following signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction: hives, difficulty breathing or facial, lip, or throat swelling. Seek medical assistance immediately!

Ru-Hist D can cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • Sleeplessness, anxiety, or dizziness
  • Chest pain, rapid or uneven heartbeat;
  • Little or no urinating is acceptable.
  • Dangerously high blood pressure can cause symptoms such as a severe headache or a buzzing sensation in your ears.
  • If your symptoms don't improve after seven days or you have a temperature
  • If new symptoms appear,

Before you take this drug

If you have taken an MAO inhibitor within the last 14 days, do not take Ru-Hist D. A dangerous drug interaction may occur. MAO inhibitors are isocarboxazid (linezolid), phenelzine (rasagiline), selegiline (tranylcypromine), and rasagiline. This medicine should not be used if you have an allergy to brompheniramine or phenylephrine.

If you have had any of the following:

  • A breathing problem, such as emphysema and chronic bronchitis.
  • Diabetes;
  • High blood pressure, heart disease
  • Urination or prostate problems;
  • Glaucoma;
  • Overactive thyroid.

Consult your doctor before taking this medication if you're pregnant or nursing. This medicine should not be given to children younger than six years old without consulting a doctor.

How to take Ru-Hist D?

Follow the instructions on the label or those prescribed by your doctor. Antihistamines should not be used to put a child to sleep. Utilise the measuring device provided to accurately measure liquid medicines (not spoon). Store away from heat and moisture at room temperature.

What happens if I miss the dose?

You may not have a schedule for cold medicine, as it is taken when needed. Use the missed dose immediately if you use the medication regularly.If your next scheduled dose is imminent, forgoing any missed one would not be wise; taking extra medication to compensate would only compound problems further.

What happens if I overdose?

Dial the poison help line at 1-800-222-1222 immediately or seek medical attention as soon as you suspect a toxic exposure, for assistance or seek immediate medical advice.

What should be avoided?

This medication can affect your ability to think or react. You should be careful when driving or doing anything else that requires you to remain alert. The side effects of drinking alcohol while taking Ru-Hist D are possible. Before using any other cold or allergy medicine or sleeping medication, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Brompheniramine and phenylephrine are found in many combination medications. You can get too much medicine by using certain products in combination. You can check the label of a medication to see if it contains antihistamines or decongestants.

Interaction with other drug

This effect can be worsened by taking Ru-Hist D along with other drugs that make you sleepy. Before taking an opioid, a sleeping tablet, a muscle-relaxing medication, or medicine to treat anxiety or seizures, consult your doctor. Before starting to take this medication, be sure to inform both your physician and pharmacist of all medications, vitamins, or herbal remedies you currently take, such as vitamins or herbal remedies. When taken together they could cause unwanted or harmful interactions; please be aware this guide does not list all possible interactions.
