What is Natrol (SAMe)?
Natrol (also known as SAMe) can be described as a manufactured form of a chemical that is found naturally in our bodies.SAMe could be effective in alternative medicine to aid in the treatment of osteoarthritis.
SAMe has been utilized in alternative medicine as an efficient treatment for itching, fatigue, and abnormal laboratory tests in those suffering from an illness of the liver, as well as improving the symptoms of people suffering from depressive disorders.
Other uses that have not been proven by research include treating alcohol-related liver diseases as well as schizophrenia and aging Alzheimer's diseases, fibromyalgia, constant back pain, migraines, seizures, premenstrual syndrome, and chronic fatigue syndrome.
It isn't known for certain if SAMe works for treating medical conditions of any kind. The medical use of this drug is not recognised by the FDA. SAMe shouldn't be used to replace the medication recommended by your physician.
Same is commonly marketed as a supplement for herbal use. There aren't any regulated manufacturing standards for many herbal substances, and some of the supplements that are sold have been discovered to be infected with poisonous metals or other substances. Side effects of Natrol (SAMe)
See a doctor immediately. If you notice symptoms that indicate an allergy, such as asthma, difficulty breathing, and swelling of your lips, face, and tongue,

If you experience indications associated with serotonin syndrome, which include hallucinations, agitation, sweating, fever, shivering, an increase in heart rate, muscle stiffness, or twitching, You may also experience loss of coordination, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.
Although not all of the side effects are well known, SAMe is thought to be safe for the majority of adults if used according to the directions.
Common adverse effects of Natrol can include:
- Hair color changes
- Headache, dizziness;
- Experiencing anxiety or fear;
- Loss of appetite, vomiting, nausea, and an upset stomach;
- Dry mouth;
- Diarrhea, constipation;
- An increase in sweating increased sweating
- Sleep problems (insomnia).

Warnings
It is not recommended to use SAMe if you suffer from bipolar disorder, anxiety disorder, or are taking medications for depression.
Don't use SAMe if you've taken an MAO inhibitor within the past 14 days. A risky drug interaction may occur. MAO inhibitors include isocarboxazid, linezolid, Methylene Blue injection, rasagiline, and phenelzine, as well as tranylcypromine and others.
Before you take this drug
SAME is not recommended. If you suffer from bipolar disorder (manic depression), anxiety disorder, or antidepressant medication.
Don't use SAMe if you've used an MAO inhibitor within the last 14 days. A potentially dangerous interaction with a drug could occur. MAO inhibitors include isocarboxazid, linezolid, methylene blue injection, rasagiline, phenelzine, tranylcypromine, and many others.
Consult your doctor if you also take stimulant medicines, opioid medication, herbal products, or medicines to treat mental illness, depression, Parkinson's disease, migraine headaches, serious infections, or for the prevention of vomiting and nausea. An interaction with SAMe can result in a serious illness known as serotonin syndrome.
Consult a pharmacist, doctor, or any other healthcare professional about whether it is appropriate for you to take this medication when you are:
- A planned procedure;
- Lesch-Nyhan syndrome,
- Parkinson's disease.
It is unknown if SAMe could harm an unborn baby. Do not use this product unless you have medical advice if you're pregnant.
SAMe is thought to be potentially unsafe to use when you are nursing the baby. Do not take this product without medical advice if you are nursing a baby.Never give a health or herbal supplement to your child without a medical recommendation.
How to Take Natrol (SAMe)?
If you are considering using SAMe, consult advice from your physician. If you are undergoing surgery, take a break from SAMe at least two weeks prior to the date of surgery.Place it in a cool, dry place far from heat and moisture.

Interaction with other drugs
Do not use SAMe without a medical consultation when you are taking any of the following drugs:
- Dextromethorphan (a cough medicine, such as Robitussin D);
- Medications that alter serotonin levels Serotonin-related drugs, for example, antidepressants, stimulants, and migraine medicine;
- Levodopa;
- A narcotic drug like meperidine (Demerol), pentazocine, and tramadol (Ultram, Ultracet).
