
What is Molnupiravir?
Molnupiravir is an experimental medicine currently being studied to treat mild-to-moderate COVID-19. The drug is currently being tested, and its full risks have not been determined.
The FDA has approved the use of emergency molnupiravir to treat mild-to-moderate COVID-19 among people aged 18 and over.

Before you take this drug
Inform your doctor of any chronic or serious disease.
Molnupiravir can harm an unborn child if either the mother or father are taking this medication.
- Do not take molnupiravir while pregnant if you're a female. While taking this medication and for 4 days following your last dose, use birth control.
- Use an effective contraceptive if you're a male and your partner is or can become pregnant. Continue to use birth control at least three months after your last pill.
- Do not wait to tell your doctor if you become pregnant while using molnupiravir.
Before starting the treatment, you may be required to take a pregnancy test.
You may find your name on a registry for pregnant women to monitor the effect of molnupiravir.
You should not breastfeed for 4 days following your last dose or while taking this medication. You should throw away any collected milk if you are using a pump to breastfeed during this period. Do not give it to your child.
No one under the age of 18 is allowed to use this product.
How to take Molnupiravir?

For 5 days, take four capsules of molnupiravir every 12 hours.
This medicine should be taken as soon as you can after a diagnosis of COVID-19 and no later than 5 days from the first symptoms.

Taking molnupiravir does not reduce your contagiousness. Continue to use infection-control methods, such as isolation, distancing from others, washing hands, wearing protective masks, disinfecting surfaces that you frequently touch, and not sharing items.

Adult dose for COVID-19:

Take 800mg orally for five days, every 12 hours.

What happens if I miss the dose?
If you miss a dose by more than 10 hours, you should skip it. Never take two doses of the same medicine at once.

Side effects of Molnupiravir
If you experience any of the following symptoms of a molnupiravir allergy: difficulty breathing, hives, swelling in your lips, face, throat, or tongue, or hives, get emergency medical attention.
If you notice any symptoms that are new or getting worse, call your doctor.
Some of the most common side effects associated with molnupiravir include:
