What is Mi-Acid Double Strength?

Magnesium and calcium are minerals found in nature that are essential to many body systems. Calcium is essential for the formation of bones and bone maintenance. MI-Acid is an antacid that treats indigestion and stomach upset. It also helps to relieve heartburn. This medication guide does not list all possible uses for Mi-Acid double strength.

Side effects of Mi-Acid Double Strength

If you experience any of the following signs of an allergy reaction, seek immediate medical help: difficulty breathing, hives or swelling in your lips, face, throat or tongue.

If you experience symptoms such as high levels of calcium or magnesium in your blood, stop using Mi-Acid Double Strength and contact your doctor immediately.

  • Nausea, vomiting, and constipation;
  • Increased thirst or urine production
  • Muscle weakness and bone pain
  • Feeling tired, confused, or weak is a common feeling.
  • Trouble breathing
  • Feeling lightheaded, slow heart rate

Side effects that may occur from using mi-acid double strength include:

  • Diarrhea;
  • Constipation;
  • Uncomfortable stomach

Before you take this drug

If you've ever experienced an allergy to an anti-acid, then it is not recommended that you use Mi Acid Double Strength. If you suffer from kidney disease, ask your doctor or pharmacist whether it's safe to use this medication. You may need a different dose during pregnancy and while nursing. Children should never take this medication without first consulting their physician.

How to take Mi-Acid Double Strength?

Take this medication before bed or between meals. Please read the label carefully. Use the medicine only as directed. Chew the chewable tablet before swallowing it. Just before measuring a dosage, shake the liquid oral suspension thoroughly. Use the provided dosing spoon, medicine cup, or special measuring spoon to measure liquid medication. Consult with a pharmacist if necessary. Take Mi-Acid double strength for no more than 14 consecutive days without consulting your doctor. If your symptoms don't improve or worsen after two weeks of using Mi Acid Double Strength, call your doctor. Keep the liquid medicine at room temperature, away from heat and moisture. Don't allow liquid medicines to freeze.

What happens if I miss the dose?

Since antacids can be taken as needed, it is possible that you are not on a schedule. Use the missed dose if you have a dosing schedule as soon as possible. If your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose. You should not take extra medication to compensate for a missed dose.

What happens if I overdose?

What should be avoided?

Take your antacid before taking any other medication. Certain antacids may make certain medications less effective by making it difficult for the body to absorb them. You should take your other medication at least two hours before taking Mi-Acid Double Strength or afterward.

Interaction with other drug

Mi-Acid Double-strength can interact with many drugs. This list does not include all interactions. Inform your doctor of all medications you are currently taking as well as those you are stopping or beginning using.

  • Anti-biotic
  • Heart or blood pressure medications;
  • HIV/AIDS medication
  • Treatment of osteoporosis and Paget disease.
