What is Mentholatum Greaseless Vaporizing?

Mentholatum Vaporizing Greaseless is a combination of products that are applied to the skin. Inhaling the vapors from this product after applying it to the chest may temporarily relieve coughs due to irritation of the lungs or throat. This product can be used to temporarily relieve minor muscle or joint pain by applying it to other parts of the body. Mentholatum greaseless vaporizing can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Before you take this drug

If you are suffering from:

  • A cough that produces mucus
  • A cough that is caused by tobacco, asthma, or lung disease.

This medicine should not be used on children younger than 2 years old. Before taking this medication while pregnant or nursing, consult with your physician first. Use this product only on your chest. Do not breastfeed a child while wearing it.

How to take Mentholatum Greaseless Vaporizing?

Follow the instructions on the label or those prescribed by your doctor. Take it only by mouth. Topical medicines are only to be applied topically. Apply only to the skin. Do not use it on open or broken wounds. The product may cause a mild burning or cooling sensation where it is used. If the sensation is painful or causes extreme discomfort, wash the treated skin with cool water and soap. Avoid heating the product prior to use, as it could cause burns. Apply a thick layer to your chest and throat, up to three times per day. Use it only on the skin. Do not apply it to your mouth or nose. Keep the areas treated uncovered, or only cover them with loose clothing to make it easier for you to breathe. Apply this product 3–4 times daily to relieve joint or muscle pain. Cover the treated areas of skin with a dry, warm cloth. Heat may exacerbate the feeling of burning or cooling. Avoid applying a tight bandage to the treated area. If your symptoms don't improve within 7 days or you experience a temperature, rash, or headache, call your doctor. Store away from heat and moisture at room temperature.

What happens if I miss the dose?

There is no schedule for the dosage of camphor and menthol since they are used as needed. Use the product only as directed by the label.
