What is Lysodren?

Lysodren can be used to treat carcinoma in the adrenal glands (cortical adrenal carcinoma).This medication guide does not list all possible uses of Lysodren.

Side effects of Lysodren

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergy reaction, seek immediate medical attention: difficulty breathing, hives, swelling in your lips, face, throat, or tongue.

Lysodren may cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • Double vision or blurry vision
  • Confidence is a problem with balance or speech.
  • Feeling faint could indicate potential heart conditions; or else feel lightheaded enough that passing out may occur.
  • Pelvic pain and vaginal bleeding
  • Easy bruising (nosebleeds or bleeding gums)
  • Any bleeding that won't stop

Side effects that may occur with Lysdren include:

  • Vomiting and loss of appetite.
  • Diarrhoea;
  • Depressed mood
  • Dizziness, spinning sensation,
  • Rash.

If you suffer a severe injury or have an emergency, your doctor may prescribe a steroid medication or ask that you stop using Lysodren temporarily. When you are able to take Lysodren, your doctor will decide. Consult your doctor before changing your dosage or schedule.Lysodren must be taken under medical supervision.

Before you take this drug

If you've ever:

  • Recent infections or surgeries;
  • Liver diseases
  • Are You on Warfarin Coumadin Jantoven for Blood Thinner Treatments? If yes, how is that Going?

Avoid using Lysodren while pregnant. This medication could cause harm to the baby through miscarriage or early birth. While using this medication, use birth control.If you are taking this medication, breastfeeding should not be permitted.Lysodren may remain in your body for a long time after treatment has ended.

How to take Lysodren?

Read and follow all instructions or guides included with your medication.Sometimes, your doctor will change the dose. You must take the medication exactly as prescribed.It is possible that you will need to undergo frequent medical testing. Tests can be used to determine whether Lysodren works, even if there are no symptoms.If you suffer a severe injury or have an emergency, your doctor may prescribe steroid medication or ask that you stop using Lysodren temporarily. When you are able to take this medication again will be determined by your doctor. Consult your doctor before changing your medication or dose schedule.Lysodren must be taken under medical supervision.Lysodren should be stored at a temperature between 15°C and 30°C, away from heat, moisture, and other sources of heat.You can ask your pharmacist for advice on how to handle lysodren safely. Wear latex gloves if you are handling the medicine. You should not use broken tablets.

What happens if I miss the dose?

If you are almost due for the next dose, skip the missed one. Never take more than one dose at the same time.

What happens if I overdose?

Call 1-800-222-1222 for poison help or seek immediate medical attention.

What should be avoided?

Do not drive or engage in hazardous activities until you have a better understanding of how Lysodren affects you. You may be unable to react properly.Be careful to avoid activities that may cause injury or bleeding. Take extra precautions to avoid bleeding when shaving or cleaning your teeth.

Interaction with other drug

It is sometimes not safe to take certain drugs at the same time. Some medications can cause side effects that increase or decrease the effectiveness of another drug you are taking.Lysodren may be affected by other drugs, such as prescription or over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbal products. Inform your doctor of all the medicines you are taking and those that you stop or start using.
