What is a Liquimat medium?

Acne is treated with Liquimat (for the skin).Liquimat Medium can be used in other ways than those listed in the medication guide.

Side effects of Liquimat Medium

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction, seek immediate medical attention: difficulty breathing, hives, swelling of the face, lips, or throat.

Liquimat Medium may cause serious side effects. Contact your doctor immediately if:

  • The application of medicine can cause severe redness or burning.
  • If you experience severe peeling or dryness of the treated skin,
  • Skin symptoms that are new or worsening

Liquimat Medium can cause the following side effects:

  • Itching or mild burning
  • Peeling, or dryness
  • Oily skin

Before you take this drug

Liquimat medium should not be used if you have an allergy to sulphur.If you suffer from severe acne or large patches of acne on your skin, ask a doctor or a pharmacist whether this medication is safe for use.Consult your doctor before taking this medication if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.

How to take Liquimat Medium?

Take only the topical medicine. Topical medicines are only to be used on the scalp or skin.Follow the instructions on the label or those prescribed by your doctor.Shake the medicine well before using it. Follow the directions on the label.Before and after using Liquimat Medium lotion, wash your hands. Cleanse and gently dry any skin areas that will be treated.Apply a thin, topical sulphur lotion to the affected area of the skin. You can do this up to 3 times per day. Rub gently. If your skin is too dry or starts to peel, apply the lotion less frequently.Bandages should not be used to cover the treated skin. The heat or bandaging may increase the amount of medication absorbed by your skin and cause adverse effects.Follow all instructions on the label when using Liquimat Medium Shampoo. It may be necessary to leave the shampoo for a few moments before rinsing.Your skin may not improve for several weeks. Continue to take the prescribed medication and consult a physician if symptoms don't improve.If you don't see immediate results, do not stop taking this medication.Liquimat medium should be stored at room temperature. Do not freeze.

What happens if I miss the dose?

Skip the missed dose if you have a close-up dose. Never apply two doses at once.

What happens if I overdose?

Overdoses of liquid medium are not dangerous. If anyone accidentally swallows the medication, seek emergency medical care or call Poison Help at 1-800-222-1222.

What should be avoided?

Avoid getting liquid medium on your lips, in your nose, eyes, or mouth. If contact occurs, rinse with water.Avoid using it on wounds that are open, sunburned, or windburned. Also, avoid using it on skin that is dry or irritated.Avoid using liquid medium on areas with eczema. This medicine should not be used until the affected areas are healed.If your doctor has not instructed you otherwise, avoid using any other acne medication on the area you are treating with Liquimat Medium.Avoid skin products that can cause irritation. These include harsh soaps and skin cleansers or products containing alcohol, spices, astringents, or lime.

Interaction with other drug

Other drugs that you take are unlikely to affect the medicine applied to your skin. Many drugs interact with each other. Inform your healthcare provider about the medicines you take, including prescriptions and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
