What is the LamISIL defence?

Tolnaftate fights infections that are caused by fungus.LamISIL Defence (for the Skin) is used for infections like athlete's feet (tineas pedis), jock itch (tineas cruris), ringworms (tinea corporis), etc. Tolnaftate can also be used in conjunction with other antifungals for infections of the nail, scalp, palms, and soles.LamISIL Defence can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side effects of LamISIL Defence

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction, seek immediate medical attention: difficulty breathing, hives, swelling of the face, lips, or throat.If you experience skin irritation following the application of LamISIL Defence, stop using it immediately and contact your doctor.Some common side effects include mild itching or dryness of the treated skin.There may be other side effects. Call your doctor if experiencing side effects; contact the FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088 if reporting them directly.

Before you take this drug

If you have an allergy to LamISIL Defence, then it is not recommended that you use this product.If you suffer from other medical conditions, ask your doctor or pharmacist whether it's safe to use LamISIL Defence.LamISIL Defence is not known to harm unborn babies. If you are pregnant, do not take this medicine without consulting with your physician first.Tolnaftate is not known to pass into breast milk. It's also unknown if it can harm a baby who is nursing. If you are breastfeeding a child, do not use this medication without consulting your doctor.Do not administer this medicine without consulting a doctor.

How to take LamISIL Defence?

Do not exceed the recommended dosage or duration. Use the recommended dose and do not exceed it.Avoid taking it by mouth. LamISIL Defence should only be applied to the skin. This medicine should not be used on wounds that are open, sunburned, windburned, chapped, or have dry skin. Rinse with water if this medicine enters your eyes, nose, or mouth.Avoid covering the treated area with a bandage that does not allow for air circulation. Use a cotton-gauze dressing over the treated skin area to protect your clothes.You should wash your hands both before and after using this medication, unless it is to treat an infection on your hands.Tolnafate topical should be applied to clean, dry skin.If your symptoms don't improve or worsen, contact your physician right away.Store away from moisture or heat at room temperature. When not in use, keep the tube tightly sealed.

What happens if I miss the dose?

As soon as you recall, apply the missed dose. If it's almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip any missed ones and just wait a moment longer before taking another. Don't use extra medicine to compensate for a missed dose.

What happens if I overdose?

Overdoses of LamISIL defence are not considered dangerous. If anyone accidentally swallows the medication, seek emergency medical attention. Reach the Poison Help Line by dialing 1-800-222-1222.

What should be avoided?

If LamISIL Defence reaches your eyes, rinse with water.Avoid wearing clothing made of synthetic materials that is too tight. Wear loose-fitting cotton or other natural-fibre clothing until your infection has healed.

Interaction with other drug

Tolnaftate applied topically is unlikely to interact with other drugs that you may take orally or inject. Many drugs interact with each other. Inform your healthcare providers of all medications you take, including vitamins and herbs.
