What is Inrebic?

Inrebic is a prescription medication that is used to treat myelofibrosis in adults.

Myelofibrosis is a rare form of cancer in the bone marrow that alters the body's capacity to make blood cells.It isn't known whether Inrebic is safe and effective for children.

Warnings

Certain people who use Inrebic have been diagnosed with vitamin B1 deficiencies that have resulted in severe and sometimes deadly brain damage. It is important to know that your vitamin B1 levels must be monitored prior to and during treatment. You may also require vitamin B1 supplements.

Take immediate medical care for symptoms like drowsiness, confusion, memory issues, vision problems, irregular eye movements, or problems with muscle coordination or movement.

Contact your physician if you're experiencing diarrhea or vomiting, even if you are taking medication, to avoid these negative side effects.

Before you take this drug

To be sure Inrebic is safe for you, inform your doctor if you ever experience:

  • The low level of platelets (also known as red blood cells).
  • The liver condition;
  • Kidney disease
  • If you've taken the drug ruxolitinib (Jakafi),

It is unclear if fedratinib could harm a newborn baby. See your doctor if you are planning or expecting to become expecting or are planning to become.You shouldn't feed your baby while taking Inrebic, and at least for a month after the dose you last took.

What is the best way to deal with Inrebic?

Consume Inrebic exactly as directed by your physician. Follow the directions on the prescription label and review all medication manuals or instructions sheets. The doctor might change the dosage of your medication.

It is possible to take Inrebic in combination with or without food. Details on dosage

The Usual Adult Dose of Myelofibrosis for Myelofibrosis

Patients with a platelet count at the baseline of 50 x 109/L or more:
400 mg orally, once a day
Treatment of thiamine levels and Wernicke's encephalopathy (WE):
Check the levels of thiamine and nutritional status prior to starting therapy, regularly throughout the course of treatment, and when indicated.
Do not begin this medication for patients suffering from a deficiency in thiamine and replenish thiamine prior to starting therapy and throughout treatment if levels of thiamine are low.
If you suspect that there is Wernicke's encephalopathy, stop treatment immediately and start parenteral thiamine therapy.
Keep track of symptoms until they disappear or improve and the levels of thiamine return to normal.
Use: To treat high-risk or intermediate-risk, either primary or secondary (post post polycythemia vera or post-essential thrombocythemia) myelofibrosis (MF).

What happens if I miss the dose?

Do not miss the missed dose, and take your next dose at your regular time. Don't take two doses at once.

What should be avoided?

Follow your doctor's advice regarding any restrictions on your food, drink, or activities.

Side effects of Inrebic

Take immediate medical attention. If you are experiencing symptoms that indicate an allergic reaction, Irregular: hives or breathing difficulties and swelling of your lips, face, or tongue.

A few people who use Inrebic have been diagnosed with vitamin B1 deficiencies that cause serious and often fatal brain damage. Seek emergency medical care if you are experiencing symptoms like:

  • Insomnia or confusion; memory issues;
  • Problems with vision, eye movements,
  • Problems with coordination and muscular movements.

See your doctor right away if you are suffering from:

  • Constant or persistent nausea or vomiting (even if you're taking medication to treat these symptoms);
  • Simple bleeding, unusual spots of red or purple under the skin
  • Low red blood cells (anemia): pale skin, unusual fatigue, feeling lightheaded or sluggish, cold feet and hands,
  • Low white blood cells The symptoms include fever, oral sores and skin sores, irritation of the throat, trouble breathing, and cough.

You might require a blood transfusion when your blood count is too low.

Common inrebic adverse effects could include:

  • Nausea, vomiting;
  • Diarrhea;

Interaction with other drug

There are times when it's not safe to use certain medicines simultaneously. Certain drugs may affect the blood levels and the other drugs you are taking, which could create side effects or render the medication less effective.

Other medications may interfere with fedratinib. This includes prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. Discuss with your doctor the medicines you are currently taking as well as any medications you are about to start or stop taking.
