What is Hydergine?

Hydergine can be used to improve mental (cognitive) functioning and self-care in people who have symptoms of dementia due to aging or other conditions like Alzheimer’s disease.Hydergine does not cure dementia or any other underlying condition that can lead to a decrease in mental ability.Hydergine does not treat dementia caused by mental illness, mood disorders, or neurologic diseases.Hydergine can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side effects of Hydergine

If you experience any of the following signs of an allergic reaction: hives, difficulty breathing and swelling of lips, face, tongue or throat. Seek medical assistance immediately.

Hydergine can cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • Any changes in your memory, alertness, or mood

Hydergine side effects may include:

  • Nausea or any other stomach discomfort.

Hydergine should not be taken if you suffer from mental illness or psychosis.

Before you take this drug

Hydergine should not be taken if:

  • A history of psychosis or mental illness.

Hydergine is not known to harm unborn babies. If you plan to get pregnant or are already pregnant, tell your doctor.It is unknown if ergoloid mesylates pass into breast milk or if they could harm a baby who is nursing. You should tell your doctor if you're breastfeeding a child.

How to take Hydergine?

Hydergine can be taken up to three times a day.Please read and heed all instructions listed on your prescription label.Take this medication only as prescribed. Do not exceed the recommended dosage or take it for longer.While you use Hydergine, your doctor will check on your progress regularly. You or your family members should be alert if you experience any changes in mood or symptoms.You may need to wait up to four weeks for your symptoms to begin improving. To get the best results, use the medication exactly as prescribed.If your symptoms persist after three weeks of treatment, call your doctor.Store away from moisture, heat, and light at room temperature.

What happens if I miss the dose?

As soon as you remember a missed dose, take it immediately. If your next scheduled dosage is coming due soon afterward, skip the missed one; taking more medication to make up for missed dosage would only serve to further increase risks.

What should be avoided?

If your doctor prescribes any restrictions regarding food, beverage, or activity, follow their instructions.

Interaction with other drug

Other drugs, such as vitamins and herbal remedies, may also interact with ergoloid. Inform your healthcare providers of all the medicines you are taking and those you plan to take.
