Side effects of Halcinonide Topical

Symptoms of allergic reactions may include hives, difficulty breathing and swelling of lips, face, tongue or throat. Seek medical assistance immediately if these occur.

  • Redness, heat, swelling, oozing, or severe irritation on any skin treated
  • Dry mouth; fruity breath smell
  • Possible signs of halcinonide topical absorption through the skin include weight gain (especially on your face, upper back, and torso), slow wound healing, thin skin, increased hair growth, changes in sexual function, and feeling anxious or depressed.

Halcinonide topical side effects may include:

  • Burning, itching, or irritation of the treated skin
  • Increased hair growth
  • White or "pruned", appearance of the skin
  • Rash, pimples,
  • Changes in the color of treated skin

Before you take this drug

If you have an allergy to halcinonide, do not use it topically.

  • A skin reaction to any medicine containing steroids;
  • Liver disease
  • An adrenal gland disorder is a condition that affects the adrenal glands.

Steroids can cause glucose levels to increase in the blood or urine. Inform your doctor if you have diabetes.Halcinonide is not known to harm unborn babies. Inform your doctor immediately if you are pregnant, planning on becoming pregnant, or considering becoming pregnant.Halcinonide topical may cause problems if breast-feeding is being done. Consult your doctor if there are any risks. Avoid applying this medication to the nipple region if you are breastfeeding.This medicine should not be given to children without consulting a doctor. This medicine can be absorbed more easily by children through their skin, and they may experience side effects.

How to take Halcinonide Topical?

Read all instructions or guides that come with your medication and follow all directions. Follow the directions on the label.Take it only by mouth. Topical medicines are only to be used on the skin.You should wash your hands both before and after using this medication, unless it is to treat an infection of the hand.Only use a small quantity of medicine. Apply a thin coating and gently rub it in.You should not apply the medicine to a large surface of skin unless you have been told by your doctor.Covering treated skin with bandages is not recommended unless you are told to by your doctor.Use only loose-fitting or plastic diapers if you're treating the diaper area.If your symptoms don't improve within 2 weeks, call your doctor.Halcinonide should not be stopped abruptly. You should follow your doctor's advice about reducing your dose.Store away from moisture or heat at room temperature. Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat.

Usual Adult Dose for Dermatitis:

Apply a thin layer to the affected area between two and three times per day.
Comments:
If an infection occurs, the use of occlusive dressings must be stopped and antimicrobial treatment should be initiated.

Adult dose for eczema:

What happens if I miss the dose?

If you are close to your next dose, skip the missed dose. Never apply two doses at once.

What happens if I overdose?

If anyone accidentally swallows the medication, seek emergency medical care or call Poison Help at 1-800-222-1222.The use of steroids in high doses can cause thinning of the skin, easy bleeding, changes in body weight (especially on your neck, face, back, and waist), acne, facial hair growth, menstrual issues, impotence, or a loss of interest in sexual activity.

What should be avoided?

Halcinonide is not recommended for treating any condition without consulting your doctor.Do not get this medication in your mouth, eyes, or vagina.

Interaction with other drug
