What is Ganirelix Acetate?

Ganirelix The acetate in Ganirelix reduces the amount of certain hormones, including estrogen. Ganirelix acetate can be used in conjunction with other medications to treat infertility among women. This medication guide does not list all possible uses of Ganirelix Acetate.

Side effects of Ganirelix Acetate

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction, seek immediate medical attention: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of your lips, face, tongue, or throat. Some women who use Ganirelix Acetate may develop ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), a potentially fatal condition. If any of these symptoms arise, see your physician immediately.

  • Stomach pain, bloating, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea;
  • Rapid weight gain in the face and midsection, especially.
  • Little or no urination
  • As soon as you feel short of breath while lying down, that could be a telltale sign that breathing becomes challenging for you.

Ganirelix acetate side effects may include:

  • Stomach pain;
  • Headache;
  • Vaginal bleeding

Before you take this drug

If you have an allergy to Ganirelix Acetate Acetate or other similar medications, such as leuprolide, goserelin, or nafarelin, then you should avoid using them. If you suspect an allergy to latex, inform your physician as soon as possible. Birth defects could result from taking this product during your pregnancy; therefore, take pregnancies tests first if possible before using this product and contact your healthcare provider immediately if pregnant. Ganirelix acetate should not be used while breastfeeding.

How to take Ganirelix Acetate?

Ganirelix acetate can be injected into the skin several times a day, for several days straight, during certain phases of fertility treatment. Prep an injection only when ready to administer it and read and follow any relevant instructions carefully for use. For help or additional clarification if required, reach out to either your pharmacist or doctor immediately. Never reuse a syringe or needle. Put them in a "sharps container" that is puncture-proof, and dispose of the sharps according to local or state laws. Keep away from children and pets. You may need to test your blood frequently. Continue to be under the supervision of your doctor when using Ganirelix Acetate. Store the prefilled syringe away from heat and moisture. After one use, throw away the prefilled syringe, even if it still contains medicine.

Interaction with other drug

Ganirelix acetate may be affected by other drugs, such as vitamins and herbal remedies. Inform your doctor of all the other medications you take.
