What is Fulphila?

Fulphila prevents neuopenia, a condition caused by chemotherapy. Fulphila is a type of protein that helps your body fight infections. Fulphila can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side effects of Fulphila

If you experience any of the following symptoms, seek emergency medical attention: hives; skin rash; sweating; warmth or tingly sensation; dizziness; rapid heartbeats; difficulty breathing; wheezing; swelling on your face, lips, or tongue; or swelling in your throat, face, or mouth. Capillary Leak Syndrome is a potentially dangerous side effect of Pegfilgrastim medication. If any of the following symptoms develop while taking this medicine, please seek medical assistance immediately:

Fulphila can cause serious side effects. If you experience:

  • A sudden and severe pain that spreads from your upper left stomach to your shoulder
  • Sudden and severe chest, abdominal, or back pain is usually an emergency situation that needs urgent medical care.
  • You may experience severe pain in any part of your body.
  • Fever, tiredness;
  • Rapid breathing;
  • Any symptoms such as easily bruised, unusually bleeding, purple or red patches under the skin and easy bruising should be investigated further.
  • A hard lump or bruise where the injection was made
  • Kidney problems: little or no urine, dark urine or pink urine, swelling of the face or legs.

Should any adverse side effects arise during cancer treatment, its efficacy could be delayed or discontinued entirely.

Side effects of Fulphila include:

  • Bone pain
  • Your arms or legs may be experiencing discomfort.

Warnings

Please read all the instructions on the label or package of your medication. IInform your healthcare provider of any existing conditions, allergies or medicines you are taking.

Before you take this drug

Fulphila should not be used if you have an allergy to Filgrastim or Neupogen.

Tell your doctor about any of the following:

  • Sickle cell disorder;
  • Kidney disease
  • Acute myeloid leukemia
  • Radiation treatment
  • Myelodysplastic syndrome
  • A latex allergy.

You could develop a blood disease or cancer (leukemia) after treatment with Fulphila, radiation, and chemotherapy for breast cancer or lung carcinoma. You should ask your doctor about the risk. Notify your doctor immediately if you are pregnant or nursing.

How to take Fulphila?

Read all instructions or guides that come with your medication and follow all directions. Follow the instructions on your prescription label. Fulphila shouldn't be taken within 24 hours or 14 days of receiving chemotherapy. Fulphila can be injected into the skin. You may be taught how to use the medicine by a healthcare provider. Please read and follow all instructions for use that come with your medication. If you don't understand, consult your physician or pharmacist immediately. Only prepare injections when it is time for you to administer it, as cloudy or discolored medicine should never be used or containing particles; in such instances it should be returned back to its supplier or pharmacist immediately. For new medication contact their pharmacy as soon as possible. Your blood may need to be tested regularly. Do not use the prefilled syringe to measure the correct dosage for a child of this size.

Your doctor may need to perform medical tests in order to determine the length of time you should be treated with Fulphila. Keep the prefilled syringe protected from light in its original packaging in the fridge. Do not shake or freeze. Before injecting the dose, remove the syringe from the refrigerator. Let it sit at room temperature for between 15 and 30 minutes. Thaw a frozen syringe in the refrigerator. Use only syringes that have not been frozen before. Use a syringe of Neulasta or Udenyca that has been at room temperature for longer than 48 hours. Use a syringe of Fylnetra or Stimufend that has been at room temperature for longer than 72 hours. Use a Ziextenzo needle that has been at room temperature for longer than five days. The Neulasta Onpro injector is a device that you place on your skin to deliver Fulphila at a certain time. Wear the device for at least 27 hours prior to the start of the Fulphila dose. The dose will be released slowly from the device over a period of 45 minutes. Refrigerate Neulasta Onpro until you're ready to use it. Do not use a Neulasta Onpro that has been out of the refrigerator for more than 12 hours. Use a prefilled Nyvepria syringe if it has been out of the fridge for more than 15 days.

You or your caregiver should check Neulasta Onpro to ensure it is functioning properly. Each Onpro injector or prefilled syringe is only designed for single use; after use, discard it regardless if there are still active medicines inside it. Once used, needles and syringes should be stored safely in a puncture-proof "sharps container". Be sure to follow local or state laws on how to properly dispose of the container. Keep the container out of the reach of pets and children.

What happens if I miss the dose?

If you missed an injection or have any problems with the Neulasta Onpro, call your doctor.

What happens if I overdose?

Call 1-800-222-1222 for poison help or seek immediate medical attention. Overdose symptoms can include pain in the bones, difficulty breathing, shortness of breath when lying down, foamy mucus from a cough, clammy skin, cold skin, anxiety, and rapid heartbeats.

What should be avoided?

While wearing Neulasta Onpro, avoid driving, operating machinery, or traveling while wearing the device.

Interaction with other drug

Fulphila may be affected by other drugs, such as vitamins and herbal remedies.Inform your physician of all medications you are currently taking or have recently started or stopped using.
