What is Fluticasone, umeclidinium, and vilanterol?

The combination of fluticasone and umeclidinium is used to reduce flare-ups and prevent airflow obstruction in adults with COPD, including bronchitis or emphysema. Adults can also be treated with fluticasone (umeclidinium), vilanterol, or both to control and prevent symptoms of asthma. Fluticasone, umeclidinium, and vilanterol are not to be used in the treatment of asthma or bronchospasm attacks. Vilanterol alone can increase the risk of death for asthmatics. This risk is reduced when vilanterol and fluticasone are used together in combination products. This medication guide does not list all possible uses for fluticasone, umeclidinium, and vilanterol.
