What is Fasenra Pen?

Fasenra pen is a monoclonal antibody that acts on the immune system. This medication works by reducing the levels of eosinophils. These are a type of white blood cell that can contribute to asthma symptoms. Fasenra pen is used in conjunction with other medications to control severe asthma among adults and children over 12 years of age. This medicine is used for asthmatics who are not controlled by other medications. The Fasenra Pen can be used in other ways not mentioned in this guide.

Side effects of Fasenra Pen

If you experience any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction, seek immediate medical attention: hives; rash; difficulty breathing; feeling light-headed or swollen face, lips, throat, or tongue.

Fasenra pen can cause serious side effects. If you experience:

Before you take this drug

If you have an allergy to Fasenra Pen, it should be avoided.

How to take Fasenra Pen?

Your doctor may order tests to determine your eosinophil level before you begin treatment with Fasenra Pen. Fasenra pen is injected into the skin. This injection is given by a healthcare provider, initially once every four weeks and then once every eight weeks. Do not forget to follow your doctor's instructions. Do not stop taking steroid medications unless you are told to by your doctor. Fasenra pen is not an asthma rescue medicine. Only use fast-acting inhalation medicines for an attack. If your fast-acting medication does not work, seek medical attention. Your doctor may want to conduct frequent tests to determine the length of treatment with Fasenra Pen. Asthma can be treated with a combination of drugs.Follow all instructions precisely, without making changes without first consulting with your physician. Your dose needs could change due to surgery, illness, stress or an asthma attack. If your medicine seems to be working less well, tell your doctor.
