How to take Debrox otic ?

Please follow these instructions carefully. If you have questions, ask your pharmacist or doctor. Use Debrox only after washing your hands.

How to use the eardrops:

  • If you are lying down, tilting your head upward with your ear up is the best way to do it. When giving the medicine to your child, gently pull back the ear or downward on the earlobe.
  • Drop the appropriate number of drops in your ear by holding the dropper upside-down over the ear.
  • A bubbling noise may be heard inside your ears. The foaming effect of Debrox helps to break down the wax in your ears.
  • For at least five minutes, lie down with your head tipped back. Use a piece of cotton in the ear to prevent the medication from draining. You should follow your doctor's advice about using cotton.
  • Avoid touching the tip of the dropper or placing it in your ears. The dropper tip may be contaminated. Do not use soap or water to wash the tip. Instead, wipe it with a tissue.

The Debrox package may include a bulb syringe used to wash out the ear canal with water. How to use the bulb syringe

  • Do not use hot or cold water. Fill the syringe only with water at body temperature. Use only warm water.
  • You can also place your ear in a bowl or sink. Pull your ear gently backwards to widen the canal. The tip of the bulb-shaped syringe should be placed at the opening of your ear canal. The tip should not be inserted into the ear.
  • The water will be released into your ears by gently squeezing the bulb syringe. You could harm your eardrum if you squirt water too forcefully.
  • The water will drain into the bowl or sink if you remove the syringe.

Debrox should not be used for more than four consecutive days. If you continue to have excess earwax or your symptoms worsen after taking this medication, call your doctor. Fill the bulb syringe with water, and then empty it a few times. Use no soaps or cleaning agents. Let the syringe air-dry. Store the bottle at room temperature, away from heat and moisture.
