What is Cyclocort?

Amcinonide can be described as an extremely potent steroid that aids in reducing inflammation within the body. Cyclocort (for the skin) is used to treat skin inflammation as well as irritation that is caused by skin disorders responding to the steroid medication. Cyclocort can also be used for other purposes that are not mentioned in this guide.

Side effects of Cyclocort

See a doctor immediately. Get medical attention immediately if you notice symptoms that indicate an allergic reaction, such as symptoms of hives, difficulty breathing, and swelling of your lips, face, or tongue.

Cyclocort could cause serious adverse side effects. Contact your doctor immediately if you suffer from:

  • The condition of your skin is getting worse.
  • The appearance of redness, warmth, ousting, or extreme irritation on any skin treated;
  • Blood sugar levels are high—increased thirst, more frequent urine output, dry mouth or breath that smells of fruit or
  • Potential signs of absorption Cyclocort through your skin: weight increase (especially on your face or upper back of your torso) and the slow healing of wounds; thin or discolored skin; more muscles; body hair loss; vomiting; diarrhea; headaches; discomfort around the eyes; fatigue; mood fluctuations; and menstrual changes.

Steroids can cause growth issues in children. Inform your doctor whether your child is increasing in weight or growing at a regular rate when taking Cyclocort.

Common adverse effects of Cyclocort can be:

  • Itching, burning, or dryness of the treated skin
  • The appearance of redness or crusting on the hair follicle
  • Acne, hair growth that is increased;
  • Stretch marks, skin thinning, or
  • The skin is white or has a "pruned" appearance (caused by covering the skin with a bandage or another skin covering).

Prior to use this drug

It is best not to use amcinonide when you are allergic to it.

Speak to your doctor if you have ever suffered from:

  • Any kind of skin disease;
  • The skin reacts to any medication that contains steroids.
  • Liver disease or
  • An adrenal gland disorder of the adrenal gland.

Steroids can boost your glucose (sugar) concentrations in your urine or blood. Consult your physician if you are suffering from diabetes.

It is not clear if Cyclocort could harm a newborn baby. Inform your doctor if you are expecting. Breastfeeding is not advised during the use of Cyclocort.

Don't give the medication to any child without consulting a doctor. Children are more likely to absorb higher quantities of this medication through the skin and are more likely to experience negative side effects.

How to take Cyclocort?

Follow all instructions on the prescription label and read the medication guide or instructions sheets. Make sure you use the medicine exactly as prescribed. Do not chew it. The topical medicine should be used solely on your skin. Rinse your eyes with water if the medication gets into your mouth or eyes.

Cleanse your hands before and after you use amcinonide, except if you are using the medication to treat rough skin on your hands. Use a light layer of medication on the affected skin and gently rub it into the skin. Don't apply the medicine to a large portion of your skin unless your physician has advised you to.

Don't cover the treated skin region with a bandage or any other form of cover-up unless your physician has instructed you to. Covering areas that have been treated may make it more difficult for medication to be absorbed by your skin and can cause negative side effects.

If you're dealing with the area around your diaper, be sure not to use disposable pants or diapers that are tight-fitting. Consult your physician if symptoms don't improve or if they become worse. Keep it at room temperature, far from heat and moisture. Avoid freezing.

What happens if I miss the dose?

Take the medication as quickly as you can; however, do not take the missed dose if you think it is getting close to the time of the next dose. Don't apply two doses at once.

What happens if I overdose?

Get medical attention immediately, or contact the poison help line at 1-800-222-1222, in the event that anyone has swallowed the medicine accidentally.

Long-term or high-dose use of Cyclocort could cause the skin to become thinner, bruising easily, changes in the body's fat (especially on your neck, face, back, waist, and face), increased facial hair or acne, menstrual disorders, impotence, or a loss of interest in sexual

What should be avoided?

Do not get cyclocort in your eyes. Do not take Cyclocort for any type of skin problem that hasn't been examined by your physician. Do not apply other steroid-based topical medications to the areas that you treat with amcinonide unless your physician has advised you to.

Interaction with other drugs

Skin care products will not be affected by other medicines that you are taking. However, there are many drugs that interact with each other. Inform your health professionals about all medications you take, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal remedies.
